Last night I wondered if anyone else has done this, so I thought I'd share it. Sorry if it's already posted.
It gives the tires a more "scale" look (but maybe not the big Pro-Line logo though).

I used this white paint pen, which I also use to mark cut/drill spots on dark materials:

I did a sloppy job but this was just a test. Here are the results. Let me know what you think!

Turned out good man. I have used this method with model cars many times. Ya the big pro-line logo ruins it a bit, but this will look sweet on the new swampers, or even any rc4wd scaler tire.

How is the paint's adhesiveness on the rubber? Take a set out for some crawling and let us know how it holds up!

I am also interested in how it holds up,looks good.I have a bunch of scale tires that would look good done up,my wife uses those exact type paint pens in her crafting.

Thanks guys! I was already thinking about upgrading to the Super Swampers.
Not sure how soon I'll paint some of the mounted tires for testing but I'll definitely post up results!

I want a set of those so bad! I dont have the cash right now though....

I think they look sweet as you have them, maybe just make the P and L of Pro-Line smooth with out the swoosh things?

Bad MS Paint rendering of the smooth P and L

Just realized I forgot the i,n, and e....you get the idea lol

That rendering looks pretty good! I guess I'll leave the Pro-Line logo unpainted on the other 4 for now.

I painted the "Flat Iron 1.9" on all 4 wheels. As soon as I take it out to test, I'll post results.

I finally was able to test the white paint the other weekend at a mock scale competition. I only painted one of the tires because it takes some time to paint them. By the end of the comp the paint was pretty much wiped off by the rocks.

So if you want a nice scale look go ahead and paint them. It won't last forever but it will look great! Hope this helps. "thumbsup"

Someone makes a paint pencil for 1:1 tires I used some on my pulling truck tires to dress them up and it's now a season old and still looks good as new when washed up.

Unfortunatly the tip dried up on mine so I cut open the pen for the paint inside but I don't remember who made it.

I had looked at tire paint pens before but never thought about using them for my r/c tires. Good idea! "thumbsup" I know that Moose Racing and Duplicolor make tire paint pens. I guess those types of paint are made for durability. Maybe I'll give it a try and post up results.

My wife and little girl done my Sedonas for the trip to Nats with nail polish it doesn't last long but I thought it looked good"thumbsup""thumbsup"

I have done this a few times, but after about half an hour of crawling most of the paint has been scrubbed off anyway. But it does look cool. I have tried white, silver and the next is gold to match the body on my comp rig :)

Ive used the wife's stuff before didn't like the out come. better off just buying new ones:lmao:

but cool trick, have to try. thanks for sharing

Thanks for the ideas and comments guys!

I agree that even a real 1:1 tire paint pen probably wouldn't hold up too well. My scaler's tires get a lot of sidewall rubbing on a normal run. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

Nice...I've done this before on other tires...I used a yellow paint marker on my MAXXIS Trepador tires on my Slash and they've held up well...I've also done the same on my mountain bike tires and holds up nice...

it looks good though...makes the tires look expensive lol
