Why is quality of mini/micro almost unchanged for many years?

I see all these new 1/24 coming out and they really arent very impressive. The best I've seen yet seems to be the Geko24 but there seems to be only one place to buy it in the world and its rather pricey for 1/24. I havent done an Orlandoo yet but it seems like very little thought is going into these newer 1/24, they seem Walmart grade quality.

I have a Trail Trekker and dont think much of it. The Geko24 is the only one I like the looks of but why is there so few of them. Accurately scaled micros should be more mainstream by now. The ones coming out are just not that impressive.

The only complaint I have is company's releasing new micros that are supposed to be a "crawler" cough cough ECX barrage and instead has zero torque and is way to quick. The quality is fine for the price point of 140$CAD just I feel the company's should maybe test the product a little more before releasing.

Another example is the RC4WD gelande 1/18 , the first one with the V1 trans and stuff wasn't very good and at the price point of 280$ CAD it wasn't very promising. Now I will give RC4WD props though for releasing the V2 which was a better update but, at the price point I feel like it should of been ready the first version.

Another rant I have is the 2 in 1 ESC/receiver which I see where they are coming from and micro crawlers have limited space but, I think it would be nice to be able to change the ESC without changing the transmitter and the receiver.

Also all these copy's of the ECX barrage or similar with just a different body plopped on and advertised as a new vehicle from asiatees or where ever overseas are annoying too though.

My most recent purchase of a Proline ambush was an awesome buy at 120$ US. It's freaking leaf sprung with a cool body, tires and a decent battery life on the stock battery. Good crawl control right out of the box.

This is getting pretty long lol but I feel like most of the RC's the quality is there just not doing the right motor/trans choice out of the box that we would of wanted. I haven't looked into an Orlandoo or a Geko as both are overseas and I'd prefer having parts available within a few days vs weeks, they do seem like good quality from the reviews I have seen.

I believe that the SCALE FUNCTION, suspension action in particular, is limited due to their naturally being lightweight making that a major factor into why it isnt more common in general. To add, MOST of these need modification right out of the box to be decent, and thats a deterent for many people.

Quality material, I think rc4wd definitely doesnt fit what you are saying. Although, that is just 1 company and its not quite 1/24th "micro."

Walmart quality may be a stretch, but the bodies(for example) certainly arent coming out looking like a scale plastic static model car either. And the axles often aren't quite scale, which i get it.. with the size, its hard to fit quality, strong materials inside true 1:24 scale dimensions.

Or atleast these are my opinions based on my limited knowledge.

The simple truth is in the physics. Certain things can only scale down to a point before the performance to cost ratio goes way out. Even on 1/10 scalers things are out of proportion--like shocks and knuckles--to get things to work acceptably. A jeep axle shaft that is 1/24 scale accurate would be like 1/8" thin. Even the highest grade materials would be too flexy to work. I know a lot of people complained about the RC$WD on here, but it was very detailed and scale--that also applies to its performance capabilities. I'll summarize with a phrase I've heard in all my hobbies in varying forms:

Price, Performance, Scale Accuracy; Pick two.

The RCwd 1/18 crawler is prolly the best quality out there. Everything is metal on it including the drivetrain, steel beedlocks and the bodies have great scale detail. The interiors are super nice also.

RC is a very small market and micro RCs are an even smaller niche. There isn't a big demand for them so companies don't want to invest a lot in them. On top of that, most people don't want to pay a lot for micro RCs so they don't build high quality vehicles for the most part.

The Orlandoo series are great quality and the scale features are almost "static plastic model" good. Parts are cheap and easy to find. There are also quite a bit of hop-ups (manufacturer and third party) available. The downside is that you have to build it yourself and parts sometimes come from overseas. But these crawlers are so slow and light, that it is difficult to generate enough force to break something.

The best options for scale realism are 1/32+1/35 Orlandoo, 1/24 Geko (I have this and it is amazing quality, probably exactly what you’re looking for), and the aforementioned 1/18 RC4WD
But I guarantee my Trekker will outperform all of these climbing

Well if I could ever re-bind my rocksta's kills my full blown tekker thay are moa 4ws no shocks ,cant be beat.with cutup glued reversed stock rims creates a big offset,and the wpl soft kit tires

Well I bet it's the pricepoint, 200$CAD not including shipping/duties is a lot for a bare chassis for me. Does look pretty nice though.
