Wild Fires in East Texas

^^^ This one is about 4 miles from my house, I have some better pictures, but they were too large of files. They have been trying to get control of it for about 5 days now with no luck. The reports here tonight is that the winds are changing direction directly toward us. We have not been put on mandatory evacuation yet, but have been told to prepare. Sucks, but what can you do? Gather up the important stuff, and take pictures of the reast and pray they get it under control soon. Good luck to everyone else out there affected by this mess.

We had some small fires around town the other day. Nothing to bad. My wife is a teacher here. The school is taking water, snacks, chap stick, & other things to give the firefighters to help them in this tough time. I was a volunteer firefighter for Noonday & Flint & Gresham. Did alot of fires. Guess what. There HOT. We need to help the firefighters for helping us. I don't care if they are volunteer or if they get paid for it. They put there life on the line everyday for us & don't even ask for a thank you. Thats the least we can do for them. So, if your schools arn't doing that, see about getting it started. They need your help. There not gonna ask for it & they shouldn't have to. So, please help. "thumbsup"

I have been worried all summer about fires, hell tx started off this last spring with heavy winds and fires all over west tx. It was probably the windiest spring I can remember.

It really is so bad the grass just cracks, there really isn't any grass left, use kinalin. We have been on a road trip and my mom called and said that hill county had a fire heading toward my spread in bisque county....I got lucky,it was contained at 900 acres....nothing compared to what it could have been, luckily the lake is close by,that helps a lot with the helicopters usefulness.

Good luck to all dealing with this mess, and I hope you have some things prepared for transport just incase.
