:?:Im in the process of getting electronics together for my first crawler. The batteries i picked out are the assc. wolfpack 3600. Does anyone have an experience with these batteries? Hows the performance? I can get them for $27 each , so are there any other battery packs around the same price that would give me more for my money?

Also, should i pay a few extra dollars for traxxas connectors or are tamiya connectors fine?

I know every setup varies but how long are your runtimes?

I run a small brushless outrunner motor:

28mm diameter,

with Quark 65A Roadster ESC, and my average run time has been almost 1h30mins-/+15mins (courses with more or less wheel speed) on a 89 spur+19pinion.

unfortunately with the Tenergy's packs, you REALLY get what you pay for. Not all cells in these packs are always good. My Tenergy AAs are not charging to the capacity as stated on the cell, and 2 cells out of 8 are dying.

I'm not saying that they are great batteries but I get 1:30 - 1:45 crawling around using a Rooster crawler combo out of all 8 that I bought. No they are not an SMC, EP or Trinity matched cell pack but they are not $50+ each either.

So for multiple packs for a good price yeah I like them. When I used to race they would not work at all but there is a big difference between crawling & full throttle balls out racing where I would drain a pack completely in 10-15 mins.

But yes I agree you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the info. I was also wondering if it would be worth it just to have one really good lipo pack or multiple cheaper sub-c packs?

they are GREAT packs, i ran them at the scale nats, and run them in my slash. you cant beat them. i bought there two pack deal, and saved like 2 bucks. theyre hugh quality reedy cells.
