Today: I was coming home from Lexington after having the oil changed in my van for the trip to ECC. Leaving town I turned on the country road going out of town and traffic was stopped. There was an accident right in front of the horse farm my brother works on. Turns out one of the women who works at the farm with my brother made a bad mistake. This stupid woman tried to dodge a squirrel that was in the road. Goes in to the other lane just missing one guy and the hits head on with a Ford Taurus, she was driving some big SUV. She killed one woman and seriously injured 3 others including her self. Another could die yet!!!

She was so smart when the cops or rescue workers ask her if she knew what happened she told them she dodged a squirrel.

I would not want to live the rest of my life knowing I valued a squirrel over another human being or for that matter my self.

This will be a good news item to follow to see if she gets sued for her stupidity.

I hate SUVs and the soccermom yuppies that drive them.

I wonder if she would still have crashed if she had the proper driving skills. or was driving a more manouverable car.

Unreal:roll: I could understand if it were a human, deer, cow, horse, ect....But if it's a dog, cat, bird, rodent, ect....they are getting smacked!!! How stupid do you have to be to put your life and the lives of others at risk over a squirrel:shock:

She will be charged with failure to maintain lane, maybe to fast for conditions, and vehicular homicide. She won't do any time, probation maybe:roll: I hope they hit her with one hell of a civil lawsuit though:x

In a messed up way it reminds me of that Geico commercial where the two squirrels run out in front of the car on the mountain road to make them wreck then high five each other when it works......

Doubt it, would have avoided it if she'd just run over the stupid little fur ball or at the very least slowed a little to give it time to run for the curb like the ones around here do.

On a side note, I did find a shirt around Christmas time that read.
"Squirrels, Natures Little Speed Bumps"

I'd swerve to dodge anything (just because cleaning it's remains off my car sucks) that was reasonable. If I had to damn near lose my life for swerving, it would be a human I was avoiding.

I don't swerve for anything unless theres no traffic and I'm going slow. Some people lack the ability to determine how they should react in certain driving situations though. I really thing the requirements for getting a DL should be ALOT more strict than they are.

Women drivers always make me think of this vid.

I love my Suv alot more maneuverable then my Kenworth:) Driving skils does have alot to do with it though should have just nailed the sucker. About 13 years ago my wifes frinds was comming home from work and swerved to miss a dog and went off the side of the road and rolled her car like 3 or 4 times and the topper was she had her little one in the back in a car seat I think he was like 1 or 2.
I dont swerve to miss I just try to make sure my aim is accurate in the last 5 years I have taken out 4 deer and tons of rabbits squirrels and a couple of cats and dogs.
