Rock Stacker
What is a good pinion/ spur combination for crawling? The stock RTR setup is crap for crawling. When you get to the larger rocks, the truck tends to load up then launch itself over the rocks (if that makes sense). I realise it's setup as a rock racer from factory, but I have no real interest in the racing side of it. It's just for a scaler/ crawler.
I already have an AX10 (the older kit version) and it seems fine. I'm concidering the same pinion/ spur for the Wraith, but I'm uncertain it's exactly what I'm after as the Wraith has larger tyres. I don't want to go purchasing multiple gear options, but I also don't want to risk a ratio that is too high/low. Plus changing motors and gears in the Wraith is a PITA!!
I need a gear combo that has plenty of torque and low speed drivability, but still has a bit of punch when you hit the power. Keep in mind my truck is dead standard, and I'm still stuck with 3600mah Nimh stick packs
One other quick question, is it normal for a RTR Wraith to be faster in reverse? The Wraith was 'almost new' when I bought it, so I don't know how it was treated before I got it. Hopefully someone can shed some light on it.
