wrenchinrock's "AGENT ORANGE" build

sounds good didnt know they were just case hardened that makes it easy the pinion i tried drilling out was hardened completly ruind 3 bits running slow with lube but ended up breaking the pinion

im assuming u mean high speed steel bit right?

"thumbsup"

Hss bits can be sharpened to a scary sharp edge. Carbide (and other bits known to keep an edge longer) can't be sharpened as well. They just start out duller but keep their dull edge longer. Hss bits can start out sharper but need to be resharpened more often.

well its been awhile since the update i have some new cf motor gaurds and cf servo gaurd to install we are gonna try and have a small local.comp.saturday just between the club guys tryin to getbmore organized we really wanna put alaska on the map.again for crawler comps anyway back to agent orange im going to be rebuilding the scx10 icon shocks once again and putting some 35wt losi silicone shock oil see if that helps it be a little more predictable i will.also bu using some traxxas thick blue orings in the shocks i am trying to get them to seal any tips would be great i have green slime shock assembly lube i just cant get em sealed will post pics of the updates in the next couple days!

Only way to positively make a leak-proof scx shock is to find a used set of discontinued egressor shock bodies or buy the new Rcbros delrin bodies which are the same as the egressors.

You can use thicker o-rings but they will still leak and that will only make the shock stick more during travel which is a big no no esp when the rig is vertical and on the verge of unloading.

I dont mind refilling them once a month or so until I decide to switch to the delrin bodies"thumbsup"

Glad you got the CF! Can't wait to see it on ur rigs..

As for the shocks.. just use the green slime an 3 o-rings per shock, instead of the little black spacer(how I run mine with 0 problems). Or even a thicker spacer could work.. I saw someone post that up. Either way, it creates a tighter fit for the o-rings an keeps leaks away.

sweet i am just trying to.limp the sxc shocks a bit im waiting on a new set of kyosho redcap velvets but i.will def try trip oring
