Hey all, I'm New to the website, and i was just wondering about the traxxas xl-1 speed control. Will it work on my home built crawler just for playin with around the house, or is it to weak? The only reason i was considering this one is because its kinda cheap, like $60, and i only have $75 to spend on one. I have read a lot about the super-rooster and Tekin-rebel 2, but those seem out of my price range?

Any suggestions?

Yeah the Tekin and SR are more for comp crawling. I think the esc should work. I'm using a basic forward reverse esc myself. Just give it a try and if it don't work, sell it.

Alright thanx, Just a basic speed control was what i was hoping to use, i am also using a stampede transmission, just had to lock it up and turn side ways. Me and my friend built our first 4-links, and man is it awsome. Mine flex's past verticle on front and rear. I'll have to posts some pics later when its finished

I might not word this correctly, but here it goes. If you're going to buy a sub par ESC, you should look at the MTroniks, or LRPs. They have weak BEC circuits, but offer waterproofage.

Honestly...save up another $10 and get a Rebel 2. I'm fixen to buy a Rebel 2 myself because I've heard they are awesome way to many times.

What would be cheaper?

Buying a sub par ESC...not being happy with it cuz it sucks...selling it and loosing money...then spending more on a Rebel 2...OR...Buying a Rebel 2 right from the git go and being happy with it?

Remember....You get what you pay for,it's better to spend a few bucks more and getting a much better product that'll actually work for the application.
