xr10 parts and custom made parts build

Please forgive me for slacking on the info I said I was going to post. My wife says I have add and ocd. I'm not sure which is correct and which is worse.

Here are some pic's of some custom parts I've made. The first one is the axle battery mount made from 1/32" titanium.

I can't, for the life of me find the video, so here are the Traxxas big bore shock cap mod in pictures. Sorry.

I used these mini vise grip pliers to hold the cap while I cut the hoop off on a band saw.

This is after the cut and next is a cleaned up cap.

Here you can see the difference.

To find the center of the cap, look to the inside, there is a dimple which is like a center punch mark. It really helps in finding the dead center of the cap. Then you will use a 5/32", 4 mm or use a # 22 drill bit to drill a hole in the cap. When your done drilling this is what the cap should look like with the 4mm button head screw.

After this is complete, all you have to do is seal the screw with silicon grease to prevent leaking and then thread on a Revo rod end.

This is the end result.

Oh, don't forget the diaphragm in the cap.

Next it the complete shock assembly.

And there you have it, if done correctly, you will have a modified Traxxas big bore shock cap that won't leak.
Good luck and I hope this works for you."thumbsup"

I have a much over due update on the weight of my rig. When I started the diet on my rig, it was 5lb, 9.5oz. As of now I'm sitting at 4lb, 8oz. As soon as I get my ti links and redsigned lowdr chassis and skid on, I should be around 4lb, 6 oz. That is running a 800 mah Skylipo.
I'll post some pics soon.8)

X rated rebuild, I'm in the process of rebuilding my rig. I'll have some pic's up of the process and parts I am using to upgrade it.

Ok, here are the parts I made, they consist of a Ti servo guard and a low pro battery mount. I've been working on the battery mount for a while, because I wanted it as low as possible. I'm sure with a little more work I can get it a bit lower.
Any way on with the pic's.
