Okay, I have searched and only found posts without the info I am looking for. Due to my back I am unable to work on my new Yeti, finish my Foff Wraith, or fine tune my Wraith Crawler... Until then I am collecting parts and such.

I am using Vanquish axles, aluminum bearing carriers, etc... in all 3 models and need to shim my ring and pinion gears in the axles of all three models.

What size shims do I need and is there a pack of them I can buy? I.E. part number, mfg, etc...?

Many thanks,
Jason

Would like to know also. Found a couple random shims in my "box of misc. shims" but would like to have some more and know what size and gauge to order.

AR60 rear axle uses 5x11 mm and 10x15 mm bearings. You want a shim with the same ID as your bearing but a smaller OD. So for the pinion bearings (usually all I feel the need to shim) I used 5x7 mm shims. Mine are from Kyosho as that's what the LHS has. But many many manufacturers have this size. I have .05, .1 and .2 mm shims. Also, if you need something thicker, for example to take up lots of slop in a rear axle or front axle stub, Traxxas sell 5x7 'fiber washers' that are about .050" or 1.3ish mm thick. I only use these in an easily accessible and not critical areas as they will wear or eventually fail.

Kyosho, OFNA, and Traxxas were my go-to brands back when I worked the LHS, but search your favorite vendor, Tower or Horizon and see what you find. A steel shim is a steel shim. None will be better than the others.

I just took my pinion to Fastenal and matched up what I needed. They have a huge selection and you can buy 1's and 2's if that's all you need

I found these sets from A-Main worked a treat

Hello
I had a question about the shims I have a rr10 which uses ar60 axles, I'm looking to buy some shims for my pinion you say the 5x7 work for the pinion?

Lockedup rc have a Kit of shims for the AR60 axles.
I think it's 2 shims for the pinion and 2 for the ring gear.
