Really? ANOTHER SCX10II?

I know, I know, you might be thinking to yourself... Tbrown, do you really need to build another SCX10II? Well, you see, as I started rebuilding the I-beam rig I ended up with a spare frame! So, I started digging, and well. Turns out, I have enough spare parts to build another SCX10ii... So, yeah... Here we are.

I kinda got ahead of myself, I went to work slapping parts on. The goal is once again, a bit of a tough truck build. Digging around, I found a hot racing Wraith transmission with dig, and some SSD diamond axles I had on my SCX10i build. The links are some amazon $16 link sets. For the price, these were really nice! For the chassis, I had a spare cross member, and a bow house r/c front servo mount.

For the transmission, I swapped in the Traxxas Slash 2WD slipper clutch setup. It's tried and true, and slips right onto the old 3 gear setup

I ended up swapping the side trays to some 3d printed ones I had. Shock wise, I have another set of capra shocks that I will be using here too.

Already Getting there
Back when I was building the 10.3, it was going to be a tough truck, FS truck build. Well, I turned that into a JLU. SO! I had a proline F-250 body on the shelf. I trimmed it up, as well as an MST flat bed. I had some RC4WD MTRs that I mounted on some Axial Unimog wheels. I'm not even sure where those came from... For the front bumper, I used an amazon cheapo winch setup, and one of the many cheap winches I had floating around. Once I have the flat bed mounted, I'll get it shot in white. Then find find someone to cut some vinyl decals for me

The hope with this truck is to just have a rig that I don't care too much if I roll it around and scratch it up. Just to beat up on it some, or to loan out to anyone who wants to tag along. As I get it built more, I'll jump on in!

Built For a Purpose

Dear Spare Parts,

You are about to serve a purpose bigger than you know. The body is painted, and we already took your first run. You see, in a few other posts I talked about wanting to get people together in our local area to enjoy the hobby more. While there are hundreds of places to crawl, not everybody is willing to travel as far as I. When it comes to in town fun, there really wasn't a whole lot for public places. If there was, it was usually flooded by the un-housed. This isn't a great environment for kids.

On top of that, I credit this hobby for inspiring so many aspects of my life. Teaching me how to work on vehicles, and inspiring the hobby of full size crawling. Shoot, the days I spent daydreaming about doing it for realz one day while running these crawlers. Well that pushed me to chase the life I have now! Wanting to share this with the next generation, I approached our Parks and Rec department about building an official crawler course in one of our parks! Currently, we are at 300 signatures on the petition, and the Mayor's office has also supported the park! Right now, I am scheduled to present the park on May 14th, and I can't wait.

So, Spare parts, this is where you come into play. Apart of my presentation, I plan to have a "small" obstacle course for members of the board to enjoy. So, the build has been setup as a Parks and Rec work truck!

A preview of the presentation! I'll make sure to share the update here! Sadly, I am super busy with work, wheeling, and volunteer work. Just finding time to post has been hard! Thank you guys for always checking out my builds! I have like 4 other update posts to make else where. I'll get them up eventually!

Great cause involvement and purpose @Tbrown . Best wishes and luck on your endeavor to be part of your community.

This is great, we recently had a local group do the same thing. I made a thread about it in the new england section.

Also, with a title like this, I expected more letterkenny referenced. Friggin embarrassing....
