| 79 ford plow truck
I have been wanting a plow rig for awhile. And I used to own a 79 ford F250 plow truck. So when the HPI body came out I decided I would build something up.. Original plan was duallys and semi tires. But the wheel openings are just to big for them.. Plus I have the ground hawgs and nothing to really run them on, I think they are a perfect fit for this body to.. So I bent up a frame.. and got to work.. Started on pump mount And the pump. Pump painted up and mounted and the light bar and top hoop. I am going to re work the light bar some I think. |

I like where this is going, a good friend of the family had a late 70's 250 plow truck we called "mean green", had alot of fun with that thing...

| Re: 79 ford plow truck I measured when I went back down to the shop. Its right at 14" so it was a pretty good guess. The blade came out a little to narrow I am just going to reskin it to add the width.. I still have to make up a cutting edge, and add the springs.. and tripped Also going to have to make some extensions for the drop bars. They are not long enough. Think I will be painting and adding a flat bed similar to this one.. Last edited by sloppy; 01-07-2012 at 10:57 PM. |

It was only a couple days before I saw this thread I was doing a massive search in the maker of this body, when I found out my mind was reeling with plans of a 1.5 build. It just works. Your choice of wheels and tires is tits |

I really like these types of builds that are inspired by ordinary, everyday vehicles. I like the over-the-top, $100K replicas too, but truck builds like this are always so cool |

Why are you working on Stu's messy-ass workbench? Love this truck already sloppy. |

I got the trip springs on. hopefully they will be strong enough. also reskined the blade to widen it out some. Looks a little better width wise now. lift mechanism servo is somewhat hidden. and made up the cutting blade. |
