| Two bad builds at the same damn time!
Somehow I ended up with two 1.55 projects on the workbench at the same time. I can barely finish one rig at a time but these two will be built together. A little time on one, a little time on the other, and hopefully we'll have something worth looking at before too long. 1st is the Yota. This rig will be built leaning more towards performance. Longer WB, better articulation, bigger tires and more steering. It'll hopefully still look the part though. SCX based Hand bros. steering Powerstrokes 1.55 steelies/growlers Mojave body built axles/trans So far I've bobbed and lengthened the bed and trimmed the fenders to accept the S.D.I flares. Still a lit of filling and sanding left on the bed. Right now the two rigs are sharing a set of wheels/tires, but I've got an order incoming from RPP with lots of goodies for both rigs. On to the Blazer....... I just recently scored this rig in a trade and its a stunner. I think it was originally built by summitcrawler. This will be my only rig with a WB under 12" so its going to be a challenge setting some things up. I want to build this one as more of a super scale "show" rig. Kind of my entry to the WOW thread.....hopefully. Its SCX based but I think I want to eventually swap the axles out for some K44's with leafs. Interior is in it and usable but it was built out of some really thin styrene. Maybe .20? I will either rebuild or reinforce parts of it. The stompers will be at home on this rig once the pits show up for the yota. . |

| Re: Two bad builds at the same damn time! Thank you, The blazer is for sure a nicely built rig. The more I look at it, the more I think it needs leafs though. Quote:

Gear Head SCX10 Rear Shock Relocation Kit I ran a setup just like this on a rig years ago and really liked how it performed so I decided to go with their kit on this one. I did have to limit the rear shocks internally about 6mm to bring the rear down level and notch the chassis slightly to get full articulation. Appreciate it brotha, gotta build something until the wrexo gets here.

Yea, sucks he turned out to be such a flake. Looks like he did clean work. I haven't done much with the blazer. Just kinda been trying to get the stance right. It needs some narrower axles but I think this is the height that looks the best.

I love the way the Klod-5 is coming along, K44 axles would look brilliant under there... and really set it off! I can't wait to see where it goes!

Yea ScaleReady got it off me. Last I heard it was getting a new front bumper. It wasnt going to get built for a while if it stayed on my bench. I got a killer little TF2 that he did a few trick touches to. I've been upgrading and beating the hell out of it since. Still working on the longbed lux. Its ready for paint. The part I dread doing. heres a few pics of the TF2..... I added electronics, a set of junfacs, a few decals, swapped in a hilux grill and built a batt. tray. I also have a pretty badass anti-wrap setup coming to me soon. It came with f/r ScaleReady built bumpers, a custom skid with SCX trans. and flipped front shackles with super soft leafs all around. - Last edited by CREEPINKING; 11-20-2013 at 04:02 PM. |
