| First scaler build old " New Bright " rubi
Well here I go , this is the first crawler I've built. I helped my son a very little bit , on his AX-10. I aquired this body from 51willisjeep( thanks again ) I bought an AX-10 just for the axles , tranny and drivelines , and to have a bunch of extra parts. I had a frame started from 3/4" square tube , but it was a POS so I scrapped it and started over.I built the frame from 1/2" steel square tube , tranny plate from 26 ga steel plate. Wheel base is 10 inches. I used the Ax links and cut them down and rethreaded them for the lowers. Uppers i made new ones from 1/4" delrin.Had to shorten the drivelines about an inch. The shock mounts are made from 1/4" solid aluminum rod. Straight axle adapters from RC4WD on the rear. 1.9" Mudslingers on stockcar wheels ( of course ) I uesd the stock Ax shocks and cut the springs down to get my ride height set , they will work for a while , I need to find some new ones ( 4" eye to eye , suggestions are welcome on this ) Enough of the chit chat on to the pics. after several hours A bit of a mock-up shot Chassis almost done Another mock-up , setting a bit tall I think. OMG almost forgot the all important flex shot I'm setting it up for a droop suspension. I still need to put oil in the shocks , weight on the tires ,ccut he ends of the frame off , mount the body , install fender wells , build new rollbar( blue one is gay ) lights , etc ...... How do I fill in holes in this plastic body , so I can sand it down and repaint it. Looking forward to comments and suggestions. |

i know youre not totally finished but on your skidplate it would help to flip the hardware used to attach your links so they dont get hung up on rocks. just my 2 cents

WOW , 151 views and only 1 remark , I must be doing something wrong Got a bit more done today , servo/radio plate in front , inner fender wells in front , started a front bumper , drag link type of steering setup I am almost ready to tear it all apart and begin painting the chassis and replacing all of the bolts with hex head black ones. Dwane PS : I want some feedback |

pick up some shorter shocks, re-bend up you're shock hoops and cut the chassis so the body will sit inside it and it will sit right |

What he is saying is we can see the whole chassis from the side. Lower the body on the chassis to see less of it. I'd shorten the chassis rails so they will fit inside the body, then drop the lid down.
