Yet another NB wrangler build

Alright i'm a major newbie to hobby grade rc's. I have never owned anything nicer than your standard toys r us 9.6v truck.

I built this Jeep using an Axial drivetrain with a gd600 gear reduction unit before the tranny because of lack of options for placing everything and lazyness. I plan on making up a hard top out of styrene eventually since the electronics occupy the interior but for now it's good and really fun. Here are a few pictures of it. I might need someone to make them click free since I am a newer member and don't have much for posts if any

here is the link to the photobucket LINK

some parts are done poorly like the links, but it's more of a basher so i don't really care. main thing is it drives great, is moderately fast, and has lots of torque.

Keep an eye on your motor temps... I roasted a novak 55t the was run into a gd 600 then mated to a WK trans.. I did swap it out for an Integy gear reduction unit which is working so much better!
Good luck! looks great! Love the way the axles fit under the body!"thumbsup""thumbsup"

didn't expect that much interest "thumbsup"
Chassis: MFM racing chassis shortened to fit under body
Body: NB Rock Crawler 1:10 Wrangler painted to match my 1:1
Front bumper: same jeep
Rear bumper: .5" x .5" box steel to match a 1:1 rock crawling bumper
Front shocks: 4" Traxxas shocks with ball point pen spring
Rear shocks: 3.5" Traxxas shocks w/ internal springs from the 3" RC4wd scale shocks
Drivetrain: 55t integy into Gd600 (2.5:1) straight into axial tranny as xfer case (no spur gear) then down to axial axles, locked front and rear.
Wheels: Stock car wheels
Tires: RC4wd boggers

Pretty much everything was purchased from RPP Hobby I absolutely love dealing with him.:)

And I will post up some better pics of my 1:1 but for now you can check out my car domain. http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...4_108_full.jpg

Thanks for posting that pic up of the chassis, I just forgot to make a post last night since i had a lil to drink

The overall width of the tire to tire outer surface is about 8.5 inches

I trashed my ankle falling on black ice 3 months ago and I'm still barely able to walk :|.

I am working on the tire carrier which is nothing more than the bumper you guys saw on the rear with a vertical piece of the same box steel brazed on.

After that is done I will build a standard rock crawler front bumper and post the pics up.

I also ordered a Bruder Unimog for 35 bucks so I will be building something out of that. "thumbsup"
