Hi Al! I've got this dual spring 90mm scale shocks too! But using them with standart leaf springs is teribble! Because stock leaf springs are too stiff! (not soft) But I don't want to make my Trail Finder 3 linked now for sure! What do you think about using X-trail leaf springs? Are they more soft? Or only Leaf springs from rc4wd are rulling!? I also had an idea to make more soft leaf springs by myself? but not found a useable material yet! |

@bozer I use the single soft leaf spring on mine and it works ok.I only have dampers with no springs tho which makes it softer.Im using Gmade zero dampers on it right now. @lorenzoZ I`ll sort an interior and clear window later.I have some but im going to use them on a Bruiser body on my next project(which is all there except the chassis) @dready me neither! |

Got the chassis together last night.Needs a bit of playing around to get the rods right, and the width of the upper 3link bar was made for the original width chassis. Now the chassis is slightly wider it need two washers either side to get mounting right otherwise it binds when its tightened(makes sense to me ) Im waiting on a sidewinder speedo and need to get a couple of servo savers/arms before i run it. The front body post doesnt line up with the pre-drilled hole and is too low,so i need to sort that too. The body will eventually have clear windows and an interior but its stuck with this dark one for now. The dual rate dampers seem to work well with this set up.I`ll know more when i get it running. The body sits too low at the moment at the front but will look ok when i get it this height |

Still not finished but added an interior and clear glass, plus a Junfac high lift bumper. The wheelbase is slightly shorter than the leaf version so i added some length with the extra alloy spacers that were in the kit. Still not finished with the body but cant decide what to do with it. Also the steering servo took some working out to get the right postion for the suspension to work properly. Still getting used to the look of these wheels...they`ve got an Elvis the vegas days look about them to me.Maybe a black Bruiser body with off white cab will look better? BUT! i dug this body out the cupboard and i might use it instead. I think it looks better |

what do you think of the shocks? i found mine to still be a bit stiff. not to mention its pointless to put oil in em, as it doesnt do anything. i covered my links and painted the mounts/etc because i couldnt stand the silver. looks good tho |

I'm not feeling that front bumper looks abit low to me. As for the rims how about spraying them up satin black and detailing the rings it might dull em down a bit. Bruiser Body all day long |

Didnt find them stiff though. The collar is at the top in the back as its lighter, but its screwed down about 5mm at the front with the weight of the battery over it. I`ll put a pic up of how it is now.Forgot to do one with how the servo`s mounted too...back soon....(wheres the cartoon noise for running off?)

Its a nice skill to have under your belt because it means that you can make different bits for yourself that are completely unique. Alright so no-one's going to get it factory fresh but that all adds to the satisfaction knowing that you built it yourself. Keep up the good work.

Just a little update. added a driver, spare wheel, made a plate for the electrics(so the rear x plate is longer). Not a lot done but just some finishing touches left to do.I bought a sidewinder esc for this but im waiting on the disc so i can sort the settings to run a brushed motor... i used a toy wrestler for a driver rear plate with roofrack, spare wheel etc |
