Zuki Samurai 1:9sc

Hi Guys, hope you'r well...

I'm new at this forum, but very interessed about RC Crawlers...

Honestely i had made a project (in progress of assembling) for a real Rock Crawler here in Madeira Island - Portugal.
From this project I intend to do a RC Crawler at 1:9 scale.

I'm doing de rollbar in aluminium and it's almost complete... the next step is the assemblage of suspention components. On this step i have some troubles how to adquire / make a scale ''FOX'' shock absover kit to front and rear suspention... well, i attached a plan with real (almost equal) dimension that i intend to adquire... units in mm (milimetres)... please forgete the tenth of mm.:shock::shock:

Can aniboby help me with some technical information how can i get it???

I attached to a pack of fotos of construction os RC_Crawler 1:9 Scale and a 3D prespective of Real Rock Crawler

Best Regards

Xavier Oliveira - From Portugal

PS: pardon for my bad english... sorry...:shock::shock:

Is that Zuk (the one articulating) a cad file? What was it done with? Did you make the file?

xavier_oliveira 12-16-2008 11:02 AM

Hi There

Many thanks..."thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Yes, the original project it was made from me... It was made for a real Rock Crawler.
That 3D prespective it was made in 3D Studio Max.
This project it was made in AutoCad 2008 for 2D, and 3Dstudio max for 3D prespectives and animation.
All project is converted to PDF Adobe reader for current consult / browse.

I attached some examples for you.

Can Anibody answer about the shock absorver kits...???? please....

:shock::shock:that is stunning, I love it.

Andrizzle 12-16-2008 12:17 PM

That is awesome! Great renderings there, the 3d studio looks so real I had to search for bolts to see that it wasn't.

As for the shocks I have some blue gpm threaded aluminium shocks on one of my rigs. I think they look fox like maybe just the color makes me think fox. Here's a link. http://www.hobbyetc.com/cgi-bin/item...#ilikepictures
Take the spring and retainers off and put a smaller spring inside and they will work like an air shock. Other than that a turned down TLT shock with the cap painted blue could work and is easy to do. I've not seen anything exactly like what you have drawn but that doesn't mean it's not possible, Don't make any compromises on such a nice looking rig.

levi steele 12-16-2008 12:30 PM

thats a sick project as for the fox shocks just get some tlt shocks and turn them down and just paint the caps
and run internal springs
thats what my friend did they look realy close "thumbsup"

I don't think these are produced yet, but these would work perfect for realism:

1st off, welcome to RCC "thumbsup" Next, that is an awesome job on that chassis! As far as shocks go, I am not aware of any currently available fox shocks like in your rendering that are readily available. However, if I may recommend a scale shock, I would look into the RC4WD dual coil over shocks. They are even anodized blue and you could easily add a cool reservoir if you wanted to. They also come in a few different lengths.
