| new guy's first build
hey guys. my names matt, this is my first rc, my first post and my first build. it started with a rtr ax10. i just upgraded parts as they broke and ended up with a pretty capable rig. i dont have any action pics, but here is what it looked like before the 1.9s and frame got here the other day. i order some cheap wheels and tires, and the chassis from tcs for the ax 10. just to get me started i just started this tonight so almost everything is rigged. and the dodge ram body to give an idea of what i am doing. its all stipped so i can paint it white. and this is what i am shooting for... my 1:1 goat anyone know how to make this thing smoke??!! haha |

Great minds think alike. Here is my 1.9 scaler. You are one up on me though, I don't have the 1:1 to match. Lol. Where did you get the Ram body? I did have the rear leafed but didn't like the flex, but it all depends on what you like. Leaf will be more scale. |

i got the body from a friend, it was off one of those rc cars you get at walmart or something. it has led headlights, tinted windows, door handles, mirrors, "chrome grill", everything. it should look decent after paint. im going to paint it tonight and put all the little pieces on and try to mount the body. | |

im not sure one of my friends told me he seen my truck on there. it was probably a video of me offroading or mudding or something, thats the only videos i have on the internet. ...but back to the rc topic. i attempted to paint the body last night and it didnt turn out to well. i sanded it down and put a coat of primer on it (it was the clear primer, all we had) and painted it white. we put several coats on and the paint still turned out yellow in certain spots. im going to try it all over and use a grey primer made for plastic. could that be the problem? or am i doing something wrong? |

Yeah dude, I'd definately hit it with some kind of a primer/sealer. Going from red to white is pretty drastic and you'll be happier if you seal that red off first. That rc body is killer. Nice rig.

| hooked up the headlights, added weights to the wheels and moved the steering servo to the frame. i need to move it up a bit, but it might look ok with a new bumper. its not permanent, i was just messing around with factory ax10 parts. |
