Question Wheel options..

I am in the process of building a scaler. I am wondering if I can get some touring car rims and put 1.9 tires on them. I see that some builds are using HPI stock car rims, the rims I have in mind are hpi as well. Prt # HPI3288. I have done the conversion for a 26mm wheel and got 1.023in. But when I was at my hobby shop I held some 26mm rims up to a 1.9 dick cipek tire and it looked like it MAY fit. However both were still in the packages so I couldnt tell for sure. Any help would be greately appreciated.
I am not set on using the 1.9 tires. I would like to stay to about the 1.9 width though. 1.9 just seems to be the best scale look.
