Default Indy V2 (the rebuild)

some of you may or may not remeber this truck, I built it a little over a year ago.

it was one of my first scale builds, tlt rear, ta01 front, pede tranny, custom gearbox to match ratio's etc....

well I have been thinking I can make it better lately..

so i asked Diaz to make me a frame (flat on both ends) and got to work...

here is what i was starting with

then I tore it apart, and here is what is left
[IMG][/IMG]

and here is thr progress I made so far today,

made the top mount for the front, and go tthe rear hung.
I decided to go with a spring over setup to keep the ride height under control.

i need to trim the front of the rails a bit, but I dont want to do that untill i am sure of the final layout.

only a little progress today, I spent most of the day finishing up the new workbench..

I did manage to mount up the gearbox I made to match the ta01 and tlt ratios, I had to put in a longer front shaft ( hpi dog bone filed down and one end cut off ) I still need to make a new dust cover for it yet..

I'll tend to small details after I get all the major stuff mocked up.

I'm kicking around the idea of picking up a tranny from rc4wd instead of using the pede again..

Well, I decided to change it up a bit.. I really didnt like how the pede tanny was going to fit in this thing, and well I didnt feel like waiting for a r2 from rc4wd, so i decided to make my own, Microgoat and I hurt our brains figuring out gear ratios using gears on the shelf at the LHS (only for me to do it different anyway ) But the overall ratio is acually a little lower than we orig figured so that is good..

I also decided to clean it up and combine the unit I used to match the two different ratios as well, I also wanted to make it as compact and as far forward as possible. I now have room to run an interior if I so choose

enough talking here are the pics ( note the absence of anything below the framerails, and the pic I took with an old body to show how much room I will have inside the cab.)

i will make a motor mount next, this is the general placement of where i would like it to end up...

tons of room..

That is some hella sweet and time consuming tranny work you have got there.
Yeah, different tires and rims will set this mutha off.

Thats an awesome truck. I have that as one of my screan savers, had it for about 6 months. Sweet ride.

You're looking for new wheels and tires?

Would you sell me those wheels and tires? Please.

lmk

Thanks
