After growing tired of seeing all of the same style vehicles at the local scale events, I figured I really needed something different for my latest entry into the 1.9 scale class. I needed some new ideas, so i dug out an old issue of RC Car Action and found an old Proline ad featuring their similar version of the Pinzgauer, renamed as the "Recon". I raced to the shop and found out that these were still available from Proline. So many of the great lexan bodies have been discontinued. Here is an example of the 1:1 Pinzgauer And here is My version. For the build, I started with a new SCX10 kit, and chose the Tekin FXr speed control, Integy 55 turn lathe motor, Futaba 3305 steering servo, Hand Bros. CMS steering kit, and 3Racing axle portals. The truck is commanded by my trusty Spektrum DX3r. Bumpers and sliders are still in the works. I don't care if you think it's ugly! I love it! I think it looks prety cool, there's a guy that lives around here that has a couple of the 1:1's he's restored. One of them being a 6x6. Last edited by LIKES2CRAWL; 07-14-2009 at 01:16 PM. |
