| Blazer - 2010 Update!
My wife decided a while back that she wants a crawler but one that is a bit more scale and I finally got started on one for her. She has picked out most of the stuff with this build. Specs: TLT axles K23S Tamiya low friction shocks 1980 Chevy Blazer body w/Flourescent pink paint with ghost flames 1.9 Crushers on stock car rims Pede tranny w/Novak 55T and 17T/84T Novak XRS Recaros (not yet installed) TSS rear bumper and tire carrier (not yet installed) Pics: (yes, the paint is bright, but it looks funny in these pictures) This was my first body with the airbrush. The paint looks more even in person...I guess my camera doesn't like those colors! I haven't yet mounted the body, but I plan to use velcro mounts. Last edited by JeremyH; 03-17-2010 at 07:44 AM. |

Yep, it is bright...although the pictures make it look even brighter. I tried to convince her to let me back it with black, but she would have nothing to do with that! She likes the color....and I guess that is what matters. I hope to have it drivable sometime soon. |

Well, I finally had a chance to finish the wiring on this thing. It is almost ready. I just need to make up a battery pack (the current one is not staying), cut up some new body mounts (ignore those in the pics, they are ugly as hell) and mount the bumper and it is ready to roll! Crystal couldn't stand waiting any longer....here are some test run pics (w/o body since I haven't finished the mounts yet): This truck works really well. Not a ton of flex, but enough. |

And she likes it! It does pretty well on the rocks considering the gearing it has. |

Nice blazer! Nice to see something different too. Quick question-why doesnt the white on the top come down to the bed, all the way around the rear side windows? pablo- Quote:
With the amount of info you gave about YOURS you should start a separate thread on your rig...

Haha....I dont mind driving a pink truck....and neither did the kid in the park! She made that little boys day by letting him drive that thing! Oh...and she didnt notice. She picked out that body because she said that is what her dad drove when she was younger....I dont have the heart to tell her that he actually had an old EB. I dont think she was pissed....it was a bit sunny and I think she was concentrating on driving. She kept trying to run me over with the crawler! Soon, I will have the rear bumper/tire carrier painted and mounted up and some recaros installed!! |

BTW, I forgot to note.....these 1.9 Crushers are awesome! They seem to work much better than the 2.2s: |

Spektrum Banzai 45T G8 Flatirons w/2.2 mem foam Sidewinder w/ CC BEC 3S Lipo I thrashed this truck recently and it ended up with a broken axle and driveshaft. Here are some pics: (IIRC, these next two pics show where I broke the axle....passenger front) (in 3 wheel drive) When I brought the truck home in this condition, Crystal (wife) was less than pleased....so I decided to upgrade. The shopping list included: CVD's for the front Stainless C's High clearance knuckles Straight axle conversion for the rear Pics: (side view) (got steering? This shows the new SS C's, CVD's and high clearance knuckles) (new straight axle conversion and a shaved rear....those servo mounts were cluttering everything up!) Testing to commence this weekend!
