Worminator 6x6 (rc4wd chassis)

I'm looking into building a scale-ish 6x6 rig based on the rcw4d Worminator k2-6 6x6 chassis. I've found a couple of posts on this forum with some good builds including Kaetwo's linked below. But I can't search for "6x6" or "k2-6" so not much else pops up.

I'm wondering if there are any other build threads based on this rig or any videos of these trucks running?

For anybody who has one running, how fast can this go? I know it's not fast, but is this just a crawler rig or can it be made to move a little faster than the typical crawler? (I guess a more scale speed).

for more speed since the motors have almost no load you can gear it up a lot and get a higher turn motor to go fast most people how have scalers run 27t or 30t

I don't own that chassis or those axles, so I can't say. I don't know if anyone else has posted a build using that truck. I would think that it would be pretty slow though, considering its using worm axles.

I will tell you right now that this is not the best forum for 6x6 info. Please head on over to:

Much better info there.

Here are some of mine:

Great site, thanks!

Your truck looks great btw. I keep hearing about worm gear issues... is it just inherent in their design that they are too low for general rc use (higher speeds than crawling)?
