Default The Molon Labe Bruiser hybrid

So I picked up some parts in a trade recently. Original Tamiya Bruiser chassis and leafsprings, tf2 axles and t case, gelande transmission, bobbed mojave body and a set of rc4wd irocs. I plan on sandblasting the chassis and stripping the body as both have a LOT of paint on them..to the point of losing body lines almost. But for now ill start grafting the parts together. Shaved the holes on the cross member and made a simple plate to mount the t case in place. Its very stout so it should hold up fine. Its 1/2" x 1/8" thick steel

I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the leafs or go 4link. Once I sat it back on the axles it seemed a bit high but after cage work and electronics and trans it should bring it down a tad. So were going to give leafs a shot!

Made some adapters to go from bruiser width leafs to tf2 axle mounts. Theyre still pretty rough because I didnt want to spend time grinding and filing if they didnt work right so they will be cleaned up now that I know they do. Also offset them to move the axle back 1/4" indolent have any other pics at the moment but I will tomorrow

The first actual thing I did was jump the gun and start on the rear cage. Going for a pre-runner/ crawler style setup with a slanted spare. I still have to add in the rear bedside supports and fuel cell mount. Not sure if im going to graft a floor and sides in or leave it open and skeletonized which im really liking, anyways here's some of the rear cage

Clipped the body on to take it out for some poser pics. Much more to go!

Stay tuned!

Thanks bud! ^^

Okay I got some sliders brazed up and mounted. Working on bracing them to the chassis right now and keeping it all removable.

Badass start! I'm always a fan of using bruiser frames.

There will be plenty of room for a full interior
Still trying to decide on a trans to put in. The gelande trans is kind of bulky. I also have an axial wraith trans I can use up front. Might try to take the wraith internals and rebuild it to be lower cg with the motor flipped. Well see!

Ive seen yours on facebook actually. Badass rig I like the ifs. How well does it crawl? Unfortunately my body was in horrible shape as im sure you know the quality they came in. But I traded the body and chassis and I recently sold the 1:1 4runner. Ive been thinking about building another one though.

Small update. Decided to go with the wraith trans which kept the motor lower and kept the trans off of the front driveshaft. Got it mounted last night and was actually able to take it for a 2wd test spin. Which was funny doing donuts and whatnot
Waiting for joints to get the front driveshaft built. Next is to mount the body and finalize the bed side mounts. Once thats done ill start on interior cage and the interior and front cage work. Definitely need a stronger servo though. But she's looking good so far.

Awesome rig love the bed design. RC4WD makes a bruiseruptor rear yota axle that has the proper leaf spring perch spacing for the bruiser chassis btw.

Thanks! And I didnt know that. I actually traded an scx10 for this pile of parts so I have basically no money into it besides the upgrades on the scx10. But it works for now. If/when the springs wear out or break ill more them likely convert to 4link.
