Default Lil Blue TJ

I haven't built a scaler for a long time now and what better time than now. So, I have had this project in mind for a while, bought the body, and lacked the tube skills to build it the way I wanted. However I got some outside help in that area (Thank goodness! )

I started with a fugly red beat up body. I dremeled off the mirrors (they were already busted), cleaned up the cuts on the body, reinforced the fenders, sanded it, and painted the outside a gorgeous blue. These pics do no justice. For my first time to paint a hard body I think it came out alright.

I wanted to make this look as legit as possible for my amatuer skills, so I glued in a rear floor board area, and used body filler to smooth out the transitions. I also cleaned up a few other areas as well.

I am trying to build this how I would build up a fullsize TJ, so I rhino lined the interior tub. Gotta be able to hose her out!

The paint wasn't quite dry in these pics, and it was a little heavy in a few spots, but it will work. I used some spray can bedliner from autozone.

And here is a mock up of what the roller is going to look like.

And some better pics of the insanely nice tube work.

I like the way the color of the cage looks right now with the blue, so I will be painting the cage in either a flat silver or gray.

Is that stainless tubing or just brakeline with the green removed? Nice job on it though!

Okay so Ripper7777777 suggested I hit it with some clear coat, and boy was he on point there. 3 coats of clear and the paint is really sweet now. I also painted the seats and dash a flat gray color that reminded me of plastic interiors. And I did a little detailing.

I added light buckets so that I can have functional headlights.

Ripper also suggested Hammered silver for the cage since I wanted to do it in silver, and boy was he right again.

I need to get some pics outside in sunlight. Now to figure out a forward mount for the trans.
