Default De-chroming clod body?

Hey guys and girls, i see quite a few of the "metal plated" clod bodies on ebay and i was wondering if anyone has ever stripped the chrome off? And if not, would i end up harmng the plastic if i do. I dont want to sand down the whole body. Thanks!!

I would assume you could paint over the chrome, might want to sand it a bit first though, just so the paint/primer will stick.

Why spend the extra money for a chrome Clod and remove the chrome plating?
