Lemon Lime F350 build So I'm building 2 f350's. one is going to be jus a scale offload build. The "lemon lime" build. And the other is going to be a baja inspired build with beater body. To start I have mounted both trucks on scx10 frames and got the wheel base right. Both rigs are sitting on Dick Cepek mud country tires rc4wd steel wheels. The beater is on a rooster 55t combo and the other is on goat 3s 21.5t combo. The beater may get a goat 13t combo not sure yet though. The beater will have a tube rear with bed sides flared not doved. The other will be stockish perhaps with a dropped bed. Rock sliders/ side steps. Maybe a full interior. Thinking about an extended cab not sure though. On to some pics. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...E9C67A86CC.jpg That's about where I started. And then had a mishap with the grey body that turned me on to a beater look. And then inspiration hit. Baja Beater. So I started to custom flare the front fenders baja style. I have got to the rear yet but it's coming as soon as I get the sides mounted to the tube rear. Here's a few pics of the work so far. Oh I plan on making it flat black with yellow or green. Not decided yet. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...940680365F.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...93F656423A.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...93F14C4882.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...93ECC075B6.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...93CB0EC157.jpg More to follow. |

Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build Been doing some work on the rigs. A bit of tuning and testing. Me and my brother were braving the cold to crawl the wood pile. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...657F1758F8.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...6578C1C9A8.jpg Lemon Lime is prepped and getting paint http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...6574FB385E.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...656FF51C22.jpg I'll post a vid of the wood pile crawl later |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build made something new. scale plate. this one is just a test the next one should look better http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...75E05F7CAD.jpg |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build ok, i'm gonna ask-WTF happened to the grey body? did you park it next to the heater or what? |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build yes, yes i did. so what happened was i cracked the plastic by the bottom of the bed behind the pass. door and i glued it back on. then i'll set it by the wood stove for a few min to dry. no big deal untill the kids start bugging and you forget about it... so i'm trying to make the best of it lol. i bought a replacement for it also but i think i'm going to use it as a tester for future fab work, and weathering beater look and whatnot. |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build oh, i understand bout the kid thing and gettin' side tracked bro. i was just curious was all. i'm sure you'll make the best of it."thumbsup" |

Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build for sure have u seen what my rig looks like rite now? |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build after a quick search i found a youtube video. stockish looking honcho. i like it though im just not a fan of silver vehicles. i was going to get a new body and paint it before decided on the hard body. i saw your post asking about the f350 body fitting the honcho. it fits very well. i kept the stock length front links and i'll try and measure my rear links for you if you want. |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build yea i posted videos on youtube but not recently and sure if u can so i know bc i kno i have shorter links in the rear and long ones in front |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build finishing up the detail paint on lemon lime http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...3F55B053CB.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/l...3F50F67BE9.jpg i also started working on the weathering on baja beater pics once its a bit farther along i need to finish the fenders and bed and re weld the rear cage. while i have been waiting on paint to dry i also started my gcm tundra build. its a running chassis but it needs allot of work. baby steps though :) i'll start a build thread on it soon |

Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build I can't wait to pull the tape off of the lemon lime truck. It's like waiting for Christmas. |
Re: Lemon Lime F350 build- baja beater F350 build Ok I pulled the tape off. And I'm mostly pleased with my end result. There are only a couple spots that need touch up. I hope to have the bed and lined and finished and the rest of the cab done by tonight.
