Not sure about the front body mount though. I dont want any post or pins in the hood. I kobbed one off the front of the frame into the hole in the bumper, you can see it in the first and last pics. Works ok, but Im still not likeing it.. Anyone got any ideas? |
Re: SCX10 budget build Velcro. That's what I used. |

Re: SCX10 budget build Looks great so far. I agree thou use a strong Velcro. 3m makes some good stuff |
Re: SCX10 budget build Im gonna do some rock sliders/ steps. Gonna do a mount in stock holes in doors. Hoping to get them done and finish the paint this weekend. |
Re: SCX10 budget build Got some paint on, spare tire mount. Just got the lights yesterday, still need lenses, finish paint, rock sliders and wheelwels.. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...7-18.11.50.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...7-18.12.05.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...7-18.13.43.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...7-18.14.20.jpg |
Re: SCX10 budget build nice truck.. how did you end up mounting the body?? i have one of these too but in a crew cab form and im trying to decide how to mount it.. might just say fack it and put some holes in the hood and use body posts for now then figure out something later.. |
Re: SCX10 budget build I put holes in the bed and used factory mounts on rear shock hoops, ties in the rear cage/ tire carrier. Front is still a bent alum plate in the front bumper. Im finishing up the rock sliders and probably going to use holes in the doors to a mount on the sliders. Ill get better pics tonight. and post them. |
Re: SCX10 budget build Been on the fence with the super duty body, but I like the way yours looks probably cuz it's on a scx10 frame.. |
Re: SCX10 budget build Thanks guys, I was gonna full speed into a 350 to Bronco conversion. But I stole some parts off my AX10 for this and I just couldnt have both trucks apart for too long. The bronco conversion is on "the body list" though.. I got some more done, dont think it will ever be completely done.... I 86'ed the body mounts in the doors, couldnt stand looking at them. The front mount is the rounded plate you can see in the front bumper, (shown in earlier pics) Rear body/cage mounts http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...9-19.47.32.jpg The cut out at front of the bed is for the batt, made a toolbox cover it. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...9-19.48.40.jpg More Paint work http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...0-19.04.37.jpg You can see the toolbox covering the batt in this one. http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...0-19.26.25.jpg Looking good in the driveway"thumbsup" I sent this pic to my sister, she and her hubby got mad cause they thought it was real and nicer than thiers...:lmao: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/9...0-19.28.54.jpg I think Im in the ballpark of $300 so far...Electronics, and trans are used... |
