Moglodyte......1 mog two looks well time to start another project ( while i still have several others going as well ) , i wanted a mog to go with my other zombie survival rigs . kinda sort of like this ( but a bit different ) http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps206e08c5.jpg i want to build the truck as the camper or survival edition , but i want the camper section removable so the mog has a tube bed on it ( for more performance type runs . well i ended up getting a tamiya mog body , a chassis ( i haven't identified yet ) , along with some other parts . parts list so far tamiya mog body un-identified chassis axial trans w/ steel gears scx-10 axles holmes hobbies trailmaster pro edition either a traxxas xl-5 or sidewinder esc thats it so far now for some pics http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps52cc2110.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps9a73b12b.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...psb01ef07e.jpg |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks now that i have the body mounts figured out i have to start on the tube work , and making bumpers . after all of that is done i will start making the camper box for the back . i am hoping to have the truck ready ( maybe not the camper part ) for the goal hill run in july . will post more later . |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks well i had some time this evening to work on the mog , so i started in on the cage work . this is my first attempt at bending my own cage so it may not be perfect . i want this cage to remain on the mog even when the camper box is installed , so with that in mind i began my first adventure in cage building . so here is what i was able to accomplish tonight ( all i have to use to bend is a small hobby vise with a suction base ) http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps96137982.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...psa24933b8.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps3955d747.jpg the cage is temporarily taped together as i don't have a welder , after i get done bending and cutting everything the DMG is gonna help me with the welding job ."thumbsup""thumbsup" will post up more as i get it done , thanks for watching the build . |

Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks well i got a little bit more done on the mog last night ( no pics yet ) , got the rear bumper cut down to length ( had to cut out between 1 1/2 to 2 inches out of it ) . i figured out how and where to mount the exo rear light bar , and i also figured out the mounting for the front bumper/stinger . gotta fab up some mounting tabs for panels , and maybe some brackets for lighting . |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks never fails when you have things you need to get done ....something comes up . so sorry for the delay , i managed to get some things done including mos of the paint . okay on to the pics . http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps0286f2af.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...psb35024d4.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps0286f2af.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps197971d1.jpg |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks trying to get it ready in time for the goat hill challenge "thumbsup" |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks okay got a little bit more done ( gonna run it at Goat Hill this saturday ) still have a decent amount left to do but it will wait till after . here are the pics as it sits waiting for Goat Hill ....... http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps4e0ffe8a.jpg http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps3e504831.jpg still have to install all of the lighting , some more body work , and other details . also still have to build the trailer |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks well after running the mog at goat hill i can say i am pleased with the performance , it crawled around the varying terain of goat hill very well . still have to finish it up and i will probably add some more weight to the rims or axles ( just to help out with c.o.g.) . i think one of the guys took some pics of the mog on the trails , i will post them up if i can find them . |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks I have to say, quite a unique Mog Viper...I really like the stance. You mentioned in my thread that the wheel base was 13.5". ...is that true? A relaxed rear shock (laid down) would be soft in the rear. I struggled with that in my build... It looks great...looks like it would crawl well, how does it work for you ?? |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks have a plan in the works for the interior , soon to be hooked up by Dinky R/C "thumbsup". i also have plans to make some panels for the underside of the cage as well as some mesh panels for the sides ( probably some solid ones as well ) |
Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks Keep it up...post pictures... Looks are great....BUT The performance meter is on  |

Re: Moglodyte......1 mog two looks well no new pics but i did put it back together after an extended time being torn apart . ran the mog at our first comp/scale run last saturday and it performed well as usual .... i will be starting on the panels for the cage and the survival camper for the back . gotta figure out where to move the battery holder under the cab and make some chassis extensions for the side to fill in the gap from frame to body . |
