Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner As if I needed another project  However I was in the mood to do some fabrication this week and none of my current projects were in need (or ready) at the time. Someone bumped this build Scout 800 "Woods Runner" build - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum this week and it just hit me at the right time. http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4450cb50.jpg http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4cb5b115.jpg I started by scaling the chassis and replicating it as close as possible in CAD. Chassis is designed around the Axial SCX10 Chassis https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...74057194_n.jpg I then used the model to create 1:1 scale templates for each individual tube. https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...03711556_n.jpg https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...19498783_n.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...32865596_n.jpg |

Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Started on the fabrication last night https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...84410241_n.jpg https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...85892123_n.jpg This is the point where I stopped for the night. https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...29633937_n.jpg |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Picked back up on it this morning before having to do some stuff around the house. https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...43138750_n.jpg Bolted up my drivetrain back into it this evening to test fitment before working on the body panels. https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...95114439_n.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...81843474_n.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...22832964_n.jpg |
Sweet |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner yeah, nice job man. must help a lot to be able to have that plotter around and not have to eye ball everything like the rest of us. |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Subed`! |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner I'm kinda surprised you went with the SCX10 instead of starting from a Wraith platform. Look sweet tho. |

Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Where did you get the scout emblems? I need them. |
Thank you! And would you mind share those templets on your website? ... JP using Tapatalk |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Snuck back downstairs for a few minutes last night. Tried my hand at some steel fenders. https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...95166915_n.jpg I'll also be doing the front fenders and hood. I'll narrow up the Proline grill to be used up front. https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...69314647_n.jpg |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Started today by adding a cowl bar to the windshield area to reduce the look of how tall the cab is. Before: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...026_234332.jpg After: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...027_132108.jpg Cut down a Wraith interior but the center tunnel is so wide that I may build one from scratch. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...027_140540.jpg |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner I cut the very front of the hood hoop off and redid it to make mounting the grill easier. I narrowed the Proline Ambush grill 1.5" to fit the width of this truck. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...027_180943.jpg Mounted the rear panels. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...027_180943.jpg I also added in the rear filler panels where the tail lights will be. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...027_180958.jpg |
Re: Harley's Scout 800 Woods Runner Man Harley, you always take it that next step! Looking good man! |
