| project ringo the rusty dingo
heres a project I started recently, always wanted to do a body chop or mod so here it is..nothing fancy but im really happy where its going so here it goes scored a great deal off the classifieds for a complete un painted body. then I chopped off the tail section and just behind the rear rollcage cut out the interior{plan on a wraith interior soon} glued it all back together reinforced with scrap lexan with ca/e6000 painted inside copper and lined the door hinge/doors/hood painted outside silver then regular rustoleum white then Tamiya racing white which will bubble on the regular whits sanded scraped damaged the body up and heres where im at now rear cage is still a work in progress |

Good looking rig. And great weathering. Only problem is that the real Land Rover Defender which the Dingo is modeled after has aluminium body panels. Those don't turn brownish red when they oxidize.

Awesome work! I love a good patina job.....gotta be careful though, any more rust and the body may fall off the chassis! Really well done.

Well. I have the Rusty Dingo now. Pretty cool build. Thought you'd like to know where it is now. Its in PA enjoying the Appalachian Mountain Trails driven by my 8 year old son. |
