Default f-150 Ranger Monster truck?

Please if anybody feels this needs to be removed than please do.

I have been gone for awhile and mostly out of the r/c world but recently I saw a tamiya blackfoot. It brought back fond memories as this was my first r/c as a kid back in '86.

I always however loved the bruiser with realistic axles, leaf springs but not on a kid's budget. I also loved the real 1:1 Big Foot monster truck. I recently found an original blackfoot body and in my spare time I have come up with this. I made the body as scale as I could. It is very close to 1.9 as far as wheels because the wild willy wheels are so close. If ya hate it or think it should be deleted, no harm.

Very cool. Two shocks per wheel would look cool on it.

What trans would you guys use? Want it a little faster than a crawler. Something compariable to a stock blackfoot with a 540 motor.

I think it looks killer!

I would run an Axial tranny up under the hood. just gear it up with a smaller spur and bigger pinion then run a disruptor T-case below the chassis.

I would love that but they would have to be scale. Where can I get internal spring shocks that are rather tiny?

RC4WD's old man emu or superlift series' shocks look great, can't comment on performance though.. Might be worth looking into?

EDIT: Just beaten to it haha.

Beautiful rig and concept! I'm a RC MT fan myself and own a number of different platform RC MT's. The body and paint work is amazing. Great job!

I use fully built axial scx trans in my MT's when possible. Although rc4wd probably has plenty of smaller and more scale units that might work in your application.

after looking around at shocks and how expensive they are, I decided to try and build some myself. I think it turned out great. I made one and now am working on the other 7. Internal spring, very small and pretty scale looking. Only drawback is they cannot be taken apart as they are welded up. I guess you could cut the top off if you ever needed to. Total cost in all 8 is about 10 bucks.

Well this build has taken a turn in the build. After looking at the post by sellenk, I decided to go even more scale monster truck. Something that would have been right at home in the mid 80's. I ditched the wild willy wheels/tires and found some clodbuster wheels/tires. I made an adapter to mount them to the axles. I grabbed some plastic from work to make the lift blocks to see if it would work. I will be making them for the finished product out of aluminum. I am also looking for another rcchannel front axle so I can have 4ws just like the real trucks. I wish I had not painted it yet as I would love to build it as "Awesome Kong" but I have too much time in the body to repaint it. Don't know what color the wheels will be yet. Not a 1.9 any more and I don't think there is a correct place for it anymore on this site. I wish there was a scale monster truck forum! lol.
