Default First build, thoughts?

Hello all, so I thought I'd share my first scale build project. I used an Everest 10 as the base and moved everything over to a TCS X-trail chassis. The pictures show the stock 2.2 wheels, but I have a set of Gmade 1.9's to be wrapped in RC4WD Tomahawk's on order. I'd just like to get an evaluation from some more experienced people. The two front bottom links are from the Everest, the other 6 were made by me. I measured it out to have a 300mm wheelbase for the Proline Cherokee body also on order. Planning on getting shorter shocks and running it in full droop. The current shocks are way too long, the rear has a bit too much articulation which causes the tires to bind up on the frame and creates a lot of axle steer. Any suggestions on a good shock would be cool.

Cheers!

If you can use an scx10 transmission plate/skid,to in order the outer links it will reduce hang ups. Imho

You think that would help with axle steer s well?

Looks like a great start! I would dremel off the posts on the bottom of the axle housings. they will get hung up on stuff.

I thought about that, I didn't know if it was used for like a diff protector or something.

Looks like you just need to flip both axles around. Those post should be on top? Also I agree with using an scx10 skid to get your link geometry correct. Would help greatly with binding.

Those axles have the posts on both sides, which is why i suggested grinding the ones on the bottom down

Cool, suggestions all appreciated! I tried finding some scx10 skids on the interwebs, not very many options unless I'm looking in the wrong place? I seen a few nice looking aluminum ones off of fleabay, anyone have any experience with these? Or maybe can send me to the right place to buy direct from a vendor?

Also, the new body and tires came in, still waiting for the wheels (anyone else notice RC Planet takes forever to ship?) Anyone got any good tips or a link to a thread on doing a rust look on the inside of the body? I'd like to paint the inside like rust and metal, and do the paint on the outer shell, so when it gets scratched and what not it will show that underneath.

Did the body trimming, first time for me, I'm pretty pleased with it. Also, although it's hard to see, I got some horizontal post mounts mocked up, the body is just resting on them, I wanted to get the width right. Going to wait until the 1.9 wheels get here to see how high or low I want to mount it.
