Default Bmxreeves 1.9 ibex build

Well... It's been a while since I have updated, so here we go. Got the rear axle,trans/motor in.

Got it a roller! Waiting on parts, will update soon!

By the way, I've already built the car but I wanted to update the build.

Just ordered more parts:

Axial 32p 56t spur gear

Axial 32p 16t pinion gear

Axial slipper pads and washers

Hot Racing aluminum transmission housing

Here is how the currently sits:

Got the VP stage 1 kit installed and some run time on it

Now it's just upgrade what breaks!

Thanks man. My guess is you wouldn't have any issue with brazing/ tig welding.

i do have all the materials to braze just never tried...i know how to solder lol .
the only thing i have for torch is a hand held torch. It says good for 2300 degrees. It melts the silver solder but does not want to stick to the brake tubing...lol.I need to upgrade it to something hotter..Some day i will tackle brazing when time comes...
Peace man.....

Thanks for sharing your build
Did you scale down the plan or did you print it 1:1 ?

An U4 1.9 is also my next build. I have also been really tempted to use one of the great plans from Harley, but decided to go with Trent Fab Top Shelf
There is an awesome build threat for the 1:1 with plenty of pictures to make my life easier ;)

A good flux really helps to braze properly. All the brazing equipment I use comes from Home Depot.
I use bronze rods with the small "brazing flux" red/black can (Lincoln Electric Model # KH506), and a MAP-PRO torch. It works really well with 3/16" solid rod and 1/4" brake line.

It's Harley's plans with scx10 width axles and 1.9s. When I do some more upgrades (sway bars) I might race U4 we will see though!

I thought about brazing it, but I had a tig set up sitting there, so I used it!

I also used 3/16 solid rod. Easy to weld and really strong.

Got my parts today and guess what.

Ordered the wrong stuff

Spur gear doesn't work on my top shaft

Slipper plate washers won't slide over the top shaft.

At least the trans case works lol.

Can some one give me the right parts numbers? And here is a pic of how it sits now.

Hard to tell from that angle, but is that spur bolted to the slipper? Or are you trying to use the newer slipper with the 32 pitch in the background?

Yup. That's what I'm doing. I've gone through 9 or 10 48p Spurs so I decided to step up

Found this video in my phone, thought i would share.

Normal speed

Slow mo

I'd say it soaks pretty well with no trailing arms!

Got it dirty today, very dirty. I was running in very silty sand, and dust so it's a mess right now.

Rig worked really well today. Need to figure out another way to mount my panels...
Only pic I have handy, will update tommrow!
