Default Teasley4crawler builds a truck

Starting my first build that I'm building with a cage that I'm tig welding myself.... I'm taking some guidelines and ideas from harley designs "woods runner" with a couple of my own twists.

My wife got me a tig welder for my birthday, so I decided to start a new build that I will try to make as many parts as I can for it with the tig welder.

Went to the metal yard and picked up some 3/16 steel rod for main part of the cage and 1/8 rod for other things

Didn't realize how different the Bomber skid was from the common wraith skid , good choice using the bomber one , it's unique and it suits this build . Nice progress so far, it's coming along nicely

Thanks highmark it is moving right along.

Piatochaz: yeah I didn't know how different the skids were either until I picked it up, I've never built anything with trailing arms so that will be another first for this build also

I think I'm going to just do a complete tube frame ultra/crawler instead

Seeing as your going ultra/crawler Are you gunna make your own panels , or still stick with the Cruiser body ? , I suppose you could do a bit of both , I would be sure to use the grill/hood from the cruiser body as it would look wicked on ur chassis , Let me know ur thoughts

Cheers

Idk yet still thinking about it both ways, I'm still leaning towards using some of the cruiser body on the front

I still have it sitting out in the garage but never got any farther on the build. Not sure what to do with it.
