Awesome story! Good folks in this hobby! I've got a bunch of ALU servo horns laying around. It should be a 25 spline being Savox. I've got three different 25 splines in the parts bin. More than happy to send you one, just DM me your address and I'll get it in the mail.

Awesome to see everyone being so generous.👍🏼

I appreciate the offer, but a servo horn is already on its way.

ESC might be here tomorrow.

I really just need the body to get here.🙄

It’s getting close!

The ESC showed up today, unfortunately they shipped the wrong one. I ordered a 1060 and they shipped a 1080.

With the budget being what it is and a $30.00 price difference, I passed. I’ll have to order a 1060 off of eBay.

As the body I ordered is just a cab, I needed to do something with the bed area.

So back to the parts bin to see what I could find. Came across a printed fuel cell, and the Canyon Trail tire I couldn’t find a month ago.

A couple of 3mm screws, a scrap piece of Lexan, and a couple of zip ties later, I had this.

http://a63.tinypic.com/ketdnn.jpg

Not much, but it’s a little something to give some balance to the rear.

I may do a little more once the body shows up and so can see what it looks like.

As it sits right now.

Seems Photobucket has screwed me again and Tinypic has ceased operations.

Now I need to find another picture hosting site that works.

I use the Tapatalk app on my smartphone. It’s where my pics are anyway. Paid the couple dollar annual fee and load away on the pics. They host them.

I had loaded them onto Tinypic and deleted them from my phone to free up some space.

The good news is, I e found another picture hosting sight to use, so going forward, there will be more pics.

I’ve never used Tapatalk, and I’m to tight to pay $10.00 for hosting, so I guess it’s my own fault. 🙄

I just post direct from my PC... Take pics, upload to Google Photos, save to HUGE folder on my storage drive full of R/C-only pics, divided into multiple sub-folders for each of my vehicles, different "types" of R/C vehicles, other people's cool stuff, and so on - then edit for size if needed, crop out unneeded stuff from background, and post it as an attachment.

Every so often I delete all but the best pics I've taken from Google Photos.

That R/C folder is 5.3GB large, 52 folders, and 16,053 individual pics (as of this moment!) - that's in the last nearly 5 years. There's some pics in there that are much older than that, from older PCs.

I have a sickness...

Re: •Project Lo-Do•

So more parts have arrived. Servo horn was the first package. I got it installed over lunch.

<a href="https://ibb.co/rwpV4v7"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/W2zLgsx/CBC14-CB1-5-BFF-46-D3-A718-2-A8718-E0609-E.jpg" alt="CBC14-CB1-5-BFF-46-D3-A718-2-A8718-E0609-E" border="0"></a>

Next was the $10.88 “Hobbywing” 1060.

I’m pretty sure it’s a knock off, but I’m not sure? It came in a sealed plastic bag as you see it. No instructions, no Hobbywing box, decals, etc...

<a href="https://ibb.co/wh5ktdX"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/3mg3KTq/61716-E1-D-F96-E-42-DD-9282-125-DD3-C2-AA30.jpg" alt="61716-E1-D-F96-E-42-DD-9282-125-DD3-C2-AA30" border="0"></a>

As long as it works, it’ll be fine and perfect for the budget.

I soldered on a Deans plug, I’ll install it this evening.

<a href="https://ibb.co/8zvKfjc"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/hXQ74Kf/8-DDB2292-F255-4-F04-A79-C-90-E4-A83-D8522.jpg" alt="8-DDB2292-F255-4-F04-A79-C-90-E4-A83-D8522" border="0"></a>

The main thing I had been waiting for, was an Injora “pre painted” half cab Ford F100.

It’s a printed PVC body, and I think for the money ($27.49 shipped and the fact that I didn’t have to paint it) it looks great.

And what better color for Project Lo-Do than RCC and/or money green!

<a href="https://ibb.co/T4SjMyr"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/F5MZ4pn/A490-B1-C3-0-ECE-48-F5-8860-14945-CCDEB19.jpg" alt="A490-B1-C3-0-ECE-48-F5-8860-14945-CCDEB19" border="0"></a>

Forgot to get body post, so I’ll swing by the LHS tomorrow, I hope they have some in stock.

I need to get the body trimmed, fitted, mounted as well as adding a few decals to personalize it.

That’s it for now...

dezfan 09-23-2019 05:52 PM

Re: •Project Lo-Do•

Got done early this afternoon and headed straight to the workbench.

Got the ESC mounted and the wires routed. I know it doesn't effect performance, but I like to keep the routing of the wires neat.

<a href="https://ibb.co/QjF1v8B"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/0VjdyBN/9-D0597-EA-171-B-4-C17-8375-7071-C3-AB60-D0.jpg" alt="9-D0597-EA-171-B-4-C17-8375-7071-C3-AB60-D0" border="0"></a>

Started trimming the body and just sat it roughly where it should sit.

Dying to know, what do you guys think?

Seems to be pretty good quality.

After I had ordered mine, I found them for $14.94 shipped on eBay!

Wish I had seen it earlier, the different would have paid for the ESC!🤣

I've been wondering when someone would use one of those Injora bodies!

Injora has a lot of good ideas, particularly compared to some other similarly-priced stuff.

That caged back half they released, almost immediately every place that sold it dropped the price to a real steal - $29.99.

They were careful to not directly copy Pro-line - it only resembles theirs superficially.

I picked up some wheels from them recently, super nice - initially I thought they were basically doing an aluminum copy of a steel wheel - but then I realized, they are somewhat similar to the RC4WD Tango Down wheels. Funny thing is, they are even more detailed! At $34.99 for 4, no less... With SLW-style hubs!

It definitely needs one!

I’m going to see what the budget looks like.

My Capra will hopefully be here by the end of the month and thats going to be a black hole for my budget.

It might just have to go as is for the time being.,
