The 'Zuki I recently got a 3d printer and ive started working on a Suzuki Samurai for a backyard crawler to play around with. I found the files on thingiverse ( can't remember who made them) and I plan to run it on a 380 motor and will use 1865 cells for power. Prints aren't perfect but I was planning on having to fill and sand. https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...7720304076486/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...7720304076486/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...7720304076486/ Not sure how to get the pics to show here |
Re: The 'Zuki cool mang go mang go |
Re: The 'Zuki Can't go wrong with a Zuki. What scale is that going to come too? Truer 1/10th? |
Re: The 'Zuki Truer tenth. I haven't check the actual wheelbase yet but it's pretty short when compared to an scx10. |
Re: The 'Zuki Just measure the body, it's 5.5" wide with a 8.25 wheelbase. ] |
Re: The 'Zuki What chassis/axles do you plan on running? The Boom Racing BRX70s would be a good choice IMO. |
Re: The 'Zuki The designer had made a chassis and scale axles to match the body. I had to split it into 4 parts to print it but it looks solid enough for some light crawling. Thinking of pairing it up with some portal axles I found off Ali express(wpl units I think). I'll try to get a image posted of them tonight. |

Re: The 'Zuki Just using a standard PLA from overture. Results have been consistent with it. I was thinking about taking the soldering iron to some of the joints, wasn't sure about fumes if any. Got some photos of the chassis and the axles. Axles were a bit smaller than I remembered and will need to be adapted from 5mm to 12mm hexes. https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...posted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...posted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...posted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/193603...posted-public/ The last pic is just showing the wpls compared to the 3d axles. I like the smaller size of the diffs on the wpls. |
