"custom", he machined his own. a stock axle could be converted though, ive seen it done with other tamiya non steering axles, ie, the hornet rear.

Initially, I did try to modify the stock casing by shortening them and glueing hacked uprights to them but the glue didn't hold. The end result would have been the same as what I ended up with though.

Im waiting to hear more from RC4WD on these things... I want to run them on my Silverado so I can take the TLT axles off it for another project

Not sure it really matters, thats a really high stress area to be relying on glue to hold. Perhaps one of those plastic welder things would do the trick? Doesnt matter now I guess since these axles should be coming out.... save the time and frustration.

thats what i was wondering, if he just tried some ca or epoxy or "welded" the plastic together, some bondene or maybe even pvc pipe glue. although that might not last long either depending on your driving style.

That much pressure on that little surface area is not gonna be something that is strong. Even with a plastic welder it wouldnt be enough esp when a lot of the strength of the plastic parts is in the fiber that is in the part.

CA Glue. I also realised I couldn't accurately shorten the stock casing.

The axles are delayed because RC4WD are having problems reading the CAD files I sent. I have no idea why, they have managed to open the files before. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon. I will be re-sending everything to try and speed things up.
