Default The Devil Made Me Do It ---First Scaler Build

Well here is the story. My wife has little interest in this hobby. So I had a thought...What would make her want to run...build her truck.

So here we go....

Avalanche Body
Double J Trailbeater Chassis
RC4WD T-Rex 60's
RC4WD Rockstars 2.2
RC4WD Rockstompers or G-Hawgs (Not sure yet)
LED's
Axial Tranny

The trick is going to be juggling all the projects I have slated for the week between Christmas and New Years.

We will see how it goes...

The build is about to begin...

Thats a lot of projects!

I should have thought of that angle when we bought the truck to make it "hers" but its mine instead

Good luck on improving the wife faction, I think we all are in need of as much of that as we can get.

Nothing beats spending money on one of our hobbies and being able to say "but honey I did it for you"

Seriously, that is my plan...she judged for us at the States and actually said she enjoyed it. I figure a Scaler would be right up her alley. Plus, I have something else up my sleeve for me...

Finally someone else with these axles on a project. Looks sweet.

I have enough trouble with the one project I'm working on.

more info on the front clip of the C3, particularly those recessed (non flip up) headlights, the only C3s i knew of that had those were some road racing versions, had a clear lense over the light bucket/recess.....

Good Eye...this was a clone Baldwin Motion. Took it to Corvettes at Carlisle to sell. Of course, after hauling it up and back...someone local bought it.

You would probably enjoy this one...

1968 SCCA Vette...with the test hole and stamped numbers in rollbar. Found it in a barn...

Wow! At least it looks like your wife is far more understanding than my wife. I don't get to have near as many toys! Let me know if this works out for you. I may give it a try.

The non-flip lights were a conversion kit you could get from either Eckler or, later, a knock-off kit from JC Whitney.

A buddy of mine has those on his C3, I really dig the looks of them. He did his that way because the flip-up mechanisms were all jacked up, and he didn't have the $$$ to get replacements.

OK...this thread has gotten hijacked...

Back to the subject at hand.

If you want to talk more about the vettes...I can start one on Chit Chat...Don't want the mods to kill the thread.

This has fallen to the back burner for a while...holidays and then other things.

Working with JJ to get a better fitting TB for this rig. With the changes it will be a perfect fit.

Now to the suspension. I was thinking leafs in the back. I would like to do a torsion suspension in the front to mirror the real thing. Any thoughts on how to do that or do I just do a four link and make it look like it?

Ideas are welcome...

A torsion setup would look a lot like the T-maxx front end.

The trick would be getting 4wd and making sure both diffs have the same ratios.

ya, you should just 4 link it. it would probly be a nice set up, or just make it all leaf.
