| My 2.2 HiLux, work in progress ...
Currently working in the 4-link, got it ok in the back now and the next step will be the front. Going to put some HPI Yokohama Geolander wheels on it as well, and the body, still prepping it. How you guys like this kind of 4-link? --------------------- --------------------- --------------------- Rearanged the links in the back so that the shocks would fit as they should. --------------------- --------------------- For now Im only using the springs in the shock in the rear, but I plan to put oil dampers on all 4 ends. That's what I have for now. Cheers. Last edited by Micke_b; 04-01-2009 at 11:32 PM. |

Looks good. If it were me, I would try to triangulate at least one set of the links... BTW, I just saw a good Swedish movie...."Låt den rätte komma in" |

Jepp its beefy the 4-link are M5 rods and from a AE RC8. I don't think I need to triangulate two of the links since I have the "centering" link over the axel, it does the job of keeping the axel straight. But in the front I probibaly go for that, since there is less space. Just wanne get the 2.2:s and see how they do in the snow. Haven't seen that movie "Låt den rätte komma in" => "Let the right one come in". I check it up. |

I would keep the upper rod's the way they are. Great idea of thinking outside of the box. Looks good. Will be watching. | |

looks nice for sure. functional not so sure. i would personally move those upper links(tranny side) up onto the frame. with them like they are your going to be lucky not to break /bend those screws constantly. the lowers look fine thoe. Deffinatly LOVE the paint. and the overall looks but id lower the body a little bit. Nice job man |

Thanks for your comments guys, I'll see this summer how well the shrink tube will hold up, I've only been driving it in the snow with this setup so far and thats no problem. But in a month or so hopefully the snow will have melted so I can try it on the rocks. Your absolutly ringht about the 4(5)-link. The screws are a little long, etc. So I've changed it a little making it simpler and better I think, feels more solid now. What you guys think? Now I can call it a 4-link again, I have one of the top links a little higher than the other so they wont touch when flexing, feels pretty good: Last edited by Micke_b; 04-04-2009 at 05:24 AM. |

| thanks! Have another little update, I've always wanted to mout the steering servo on the front axel, but never found the parts for it, also I have been wanting to replace the stock plastic 4-link axel mounts with stronger ones but never found any until now. I found all the parts I wanted and then some at junfac. Got the package today, really nice stuff and good quality to. But I let the pictures talk for themselfs, I'm really happy with this kit. Eveything works great and the steering is SUPER good. |
