Default wheelinjp's c3 jk.

well I finally went the way of the jk. after retiring the tuber, and running the gay chevy at one comp, then devlin buying that body up I needed to build a new c3 rig. no dig or rear steer here, reverses are cheap. Im modeling it after the concept of the Blue Crush mopar koh inspired jk.

specs:
scx-10 chassis, crossmember, and shock towers
scx-10 shocks, and axles.
underdrive rear, hd lockers
axial cvd's w/ gunnar pins
axial inner c's w/ vanquish histeer outers
mip drivelines
8711 servo
4mm custom links
ax10 wheels w/ 2.2 white dot Ripsaws
3racing winch
lotsa tube.

start making bumper and tube fender.

front bumper done

another angle. now onto the rear bumper then cagework

Great looking start!
Are you going with the dual front shocks in the pic?

thanks guys. no Im just running scx-10 shocks for now. it wont be a tribute, more like this pic closely resembles the idea I have for a jk. full convertible top, similar cage but I am going as low as possible with 5.5in tires, and doing some subtle body mods. It will also get a basic interior from styrene. no jk interior in this one. I have other plans for that. I will start using the camera instead of the phone to take pics now that I started a damn build thread.

You and Harley drooling on the same rig. It's not a competition. I'm following both with open eyes!

I tell ya phil, my last c3 I really built was a tuber and I like this full frame build. hopefully it drives good too. Im going for as low as possible with as much weight as low as possible too.

made some more progress today. got the rear bumper made and rear fenders. then I got a good start on the cage. my buddy mark came over and we figured out the floor, dash, and interior details
rear bumper

tube fender

cage started

Looking good! Like the low stance!
Are the shocks in full droop, or sprung? Post up a couple pics articulated.

My JK has TLTs under it, so the track is narrower with tires tucked in, so it runs a little higher.

You're on your way! It looks really chunky down low like that. I'd give it a cm or two of spring. It'll still be low. That's my two cents!

thanks guys. its sprung with scx-10 shocks. I will work on a flex shot. I planned it sitting this low so not wanting to raise it. Im hoping to start test driving it this weekend weather permitting. I should have some nice flex shots then. Im just working on scale details at this point.

got the cage all sanded and ready for pigment. started on the bodywork. I went ahead and dthrew a cowl hood on there. Holy cow there is some nasty old paint on this thing. not sure what color it will be yet but probably blue.

someone asked for a flex shot.

WOW! You were telling me I built mine fast.... You screamed through this one. I love it. It looks so mean with the low roof line and cowl. Nice work for sure!

Can I expect to see this at the next comp?
