Default Avalanche Engineering - 2.2" "Sniper" Tuber

I've ALWAYS loved the Avalanche Engineering "Sniper" tuber ever since I saw it in Four Wheeler magazines "Top Truck Challenge" a few years ago.. This things just plain BAD ASS..!!!!!!! I've always wanted to build a copy of this truck, but knew it would be damn near impossible for me to try and drill and tap this frame out of aluminum ( like I did with the Timberwolf chassis)

Then about 6 - 8 months ago, I watched a guy on here ( Supercrawlerfreak) build one of these frames from scratch, and I was SO impressed with his work, that I asked him to build me a copy of his rig, and now ( after MUCH anticipation) it has finally showed at my doorstep..!!!! I am planning on building it exactly the same as it was during the "Top Truck Challenge" ( first picture above in this thread)

I recieved it "as-is" in the first 2 pics below, and was extremely pleased with the overall quality and craftsmanship that went into building this frame..!!! This thing came out AWESOME..!! ( Its identical to the real 1:1, which is EXACTLY what i was going after..!!) - Thanks again Mike..!!

Here are the specs for the upcoming build...

* 100% Custom 1/4" and 3/16" brakeline tube frame
* RC4WD T-Rex 60 aluminum axles ( first generation)
* RC4WD Dual rate 100mm scale shocks
* 2.2" RC4WD Rock Stompers
* RC4WD R2 Tranny
* Integy 55turn Lathe motor
* Full Custom Interior
* Custom cut aluminum body panels

BIG Thanks go out again to my buddy Mike ( Supercrawlerfreak) for making me one of the most realistic looking Sniper chassis I've ever seen..!! I can't WAIT to get started on finishing this build..!!! STAY TUNED..!

I noticed the 1:1 has 2.5 ton rockwell military axels. RC4WD does have some scale rockwells if you really want to replicate it. Should be a fun build to watch. Have fun!

Yes, the real 1:1 does have 2 1/2 ton Rockwells, and I have already put the word to Mike over at RC4WD that when his axles become available, I want a set..!!!!

Thanks man.., yeah you could say I've got "plans" for this one..!!
I got those wheels and tires, before I even asked you to build this truck for me..! I'd been saving them for a special project, and it just so happens, I agree, they do look perfect on there..!

It'll take a little bit of cramming, but I think i can get all the electronics in without them being visable..! And YES, this things built like a tank..!!! Not to worry, I'll put it to the test ..!!

Thanks - Honestly Its not nearly as heavy as you might think with all that tube.. about as heavy as a RTR hilux mabey.. not as heavy as a RTR clod...

Easy answer...you CAN'T..!! There are only 2 in existance..The first one got sold off along time ago, and the second one was personally built for me, and I had to wait like 6 months to get it.. ( However, it was WELL worth the wait..!!! )

Got a little bit done on the "Sniper" today.. I had to change a few things around on the chassis set-up, then i started thinking about an idea I'd seen done on here a while back..4RunnerKid did this "mod" to his diff covers on the "Ultimate Adventure FJ", and i just thought it was SO cool, I stole the idea and made a set for the Sniper .. Here is the "before" shot ( also notice the tie rod..)

Can we say "Dynatracs"..?

I even added the fluid re-fill plug ( which yes actually screws into the cover..)

I then moved the tie rod and steering set-up behind the axle .. MUCH more to come very soon..... STAY TUNED..!!
