Amazing ! Not much more I can say lol. "thumbsup" |
Really enjoying this build. I have only owned one nitro 20yrs ago, but I definitely see there appeal, especially in a scaler. How about some pics of the progress, maybe a vid |
Crazy build man! That exhaust system is just plain amazing!! I will be watching to see this one come to completion. |
Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. Got the body almost completed, but goofed on a few areas that need to be flat black, so i will have to fix those. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9524031533.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9524070291.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9524088901.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9524198413.jpg |
Talk about "true scale" you have some ground breaking ideas there. Can wait for this to be finished and a test report."thumbsup" |

You know i was hoping that this build might bring yet another side to scale builds. I mean why stop at a hard body, or tires, lights.....this is what makes scale building so appealing. The sky is the limit. And i know everyone is waiting for the test drive. I am also. I hope it works as good as i am expecing. This could be a whole new reality! Not much of an update today, just had time for a few lights. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9642142587.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9642191379.jpg Would like to get the 4 up top wired also. |

Thanks Bart, in the lower 200 range is my target once i get the enclosure on. Its awesome that the truck is running so cool. This will allow me to insulate the motor compartment to keep the sound down while increasing the temps to spec. Body is finished now except for the spare tire rack. Got the rest of it painted today. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9822827804.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9822782260.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...9822875497.jpg Origionally http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...f8a4ab5b_b.jpg |
I hope you were able to salvage the old stickers, those were sweet. JK. Can't wait to see this thing done. |

Quit abit done recenrly. Had to make a aluminum skid. Shorten the wb from 16.5 to 16.27. Struggling with the ride height. Remember the tires scale out to 37in on a discovery. DO YOU THINK IT SITS TOO HIGH? http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...0062126770.jpg Thanks |

any updates? |
Lookin good holy, what is the overall ratio using losi axles and traxxas gearbox? Those 3.3's rev some.... |
Sorry for the slacking on my part. This is my busy season. Gearing is roughly 120:1 in first and 80:1 in second. Right on par with a 45t on 3s Have the frame painted. Actually used a wrinkle finish and baked it in the oven at 200 degrees for an hour. Turned out great! Skid pkates are made. Front skid is aluminum, tranny, exhaust and gas tak skids atr steel and painted woth the frame. Used a traxxas 2.5 so i could get the water cooled head. Completely rebuilt the motor. Its basically finished. I just have to bolt it together. My goal is to test drive it sunday. |
Would love to see some video of her maiden voyage! |
