southern buggy build for Hwheeler73 I have started on a southern buggy build for Hwheeler73. it will be built with: wraith axles SCX10 transmission 2.2 wheels and tires CMS king scale shocks servo winch MMP here's some pics of progress so far... http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps05a4b7b6.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps4d2a2d97.jpg the start of the 3 link/panhard setup. don't mind my panhard bar :lmao:, it will be changed before it's all done. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...psc899d22a.jpg here's a closer shot of the front tube style truss that I'm making for this build. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps4a751c52.jpg here's one of many little welds to be done. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps39394801.jpg |
Re: southern buggy build for Hwheeler73 Really nice, very small welds. I will keep an eye on this one. |

Re: southern buggy build for Hwheeler73 well between screwing up my knee and life just plain catching up with me, I haven't had a lot of time to get much work done lately. then when I did get back to it, I had to tackle my first ever CMS setup which took a lot more time then I thought it would. big thank you goes out to "bulldog" for the help on the CMS. I do have the CMS set up done, and got started on more chassis tubing. here's some pics http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...pse41f605a.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps1c5cbb63.jpg I did more work on the tube truss. now everyone can see why I wanted to build my own truss. the factory shock mount location is too close to the center line of the axle. so here's my solution to that. here you can see how far out the new shock location is over the stock location. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps461fbb32.jpg now the shocks will clear the chassis frame rails with plenty of room at the top. this is just the temporary shock tower. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps615e83ad.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...pseccae6da.jpg |
Re: southern buggy build for Hwheeler73 Just make sure you put some springs on and test articulation all the way around. You might want to give a little extra clearance for running other shocks if the kings don't perform well. Looking good Warren.8) |
WOW... cant even imagine what this chassis is running this guy  Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk |
I'm loving it Warren! I'm sorry to hear about your knee though! |

Thanks for the compliment. |
Re: southern buggy build for Hwheeler73 it's been sometime since I have updated this thread. I have made some more head way on this build. the suspension is all tacked in and I'm started on the rest of the tubing for the chassis. here's some pics. I tossed everything underneath it to see how it will look. the ride height will be lower with electronics and more tube added in. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...psa8217216.jpg I'm going to change the look of the "window" area. but here's what it looks like now. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps7569a81c.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...psd3f72ca2.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps7a803827.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...psa6e62de5.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps1d3e251d.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...ps8fb7ac46.jpg |
