Default southern buggy build for Hwheeler73

I have started on a southern buggy build for Hwheeler73.

it will be built with:

wraith axles
SCX10 transmission
2.2 wheels and tires
CMS
king scale shocks
servo winch
MMP

here's some pics of progress so far...

the start of the 3 link/panhard setup. don't mind my panhard bar , it will be changed before it's all done.

here's a closer shot of the front tube style truss that I'm making for this build.

here's one of many little welds to be done.

Really nice, very small welds. I will keep an eye on this one.

Very nice as usual Warren, is it copied from a 1:1 or an original design ?

mostly original, just using reference points that the customer liked about some 1:1 rigs. this should be a fun build.

well between screwing up my knee and life just plain catching up with me, I haven't had a lot of time to get much work done lately.

then when I did get back to it, I had to tackle my first ever CMS setup which took a lot more time then I thought it would. big thank you goes out to "bulldog" for the help on the CMS.

I do have the CMS set up done, and got started on more chassis tubing.

here's some pics

I did more work on the tube truss. now everyone can see why I wanted to build my own truss. the factory shock mount location is too close to the center line of the axle. so here's my solution to that.

here you can see how far out the new shock location is over the stock location.

now the shocks will clear the chassis frame rails with plenty of room at the top. this is just the temporary shock tower.

Just make sure you put some springs on and test articulation all the way around. You might want to give a little extra clearance for running other shocks if the kings don't perform well. Looking good Warren.

Yes like Hwheeler73 said the chassis is all stainless. It's a combination of 3/16" .035 wall and 1/4" .035 wall tubing.

Thanks for the compliment.

it's been sometime since I have updated this thread. I have made some more head way on this build. the suspension is all tacked in and I'm started on the rest of the tubing for the chassis.

here's some pics.

I tossed everything underneath it to see how it will look. the ride height will be lower with electronics and more tube added in.

I'm going to change the look of the "window" area. but here's what it looks like now.
