Default Slingshot...with a twist

Just switching up some things on the comp rig, thought you might want to take a look. Got to beat it up pretty bad late this afternoon at the local spot, wasint running a body and it shows, I guess you got to break in new delrin sooner or later. Blacked out the wiring since this is a compact chassis and it really stuck out.

Thnigs beeing tweaked:
Battery
Battery placement
Suspension
BTA Steering

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Thanks, I just cut and bent some thin aluminum and then covered the mount and batteries with 1in shrink tubing so it wouldn't chafe.

I saw this thread and just sent you an email - As I've sent emails to the address Don talked about all future questions going to and emails to Don's address with no response. When you get a chance please let me know when my chassis will ship. Also, have you guys had a chance to test the chassis with the losi 4" crawler shocks? Do you have any reason to believe these wouldn't work well?
Thanks.

How do you like the ss se? any problems? how is it compared to a crawler with

Thanks.Chimney

Yes I ran some Common Sense RC 1100mah packs in parallel for 2200mah, I just wasn't happy with run time I was getting with the 7t Cobalt and my lead foot but now I am!

Well Donny, Don and I are co-owners of visionary fab so it wasn't too hard. I don't for see any problems with the chassis, the vertical plates are 1/4in thick and super durable, it has to be for me for me to drive it, I am pretty hard on my rigs. I love the short shock setup, it's a whole different animal but I prefer it (more predictable to me), but even if your not into that it works really well with long shocks setup in droop, check out whoodie's slingshot build in the AX forum his ran great at the last local comp, 1st or 2nd place I believe.

Wheels, motor plate, dig case and upper link mounts are at anodizing right now, can't wait to see how it looks, I will update pics when I get them back.

Go to visionaryfabrication.com, the delrin version will be out soon but the aluminum version is up for sale and the difference is minimal.

Yes, I enjoy the increased predictability and reduced axle steer definitely!

Hey Brock, if you want the total murdered out look you are going to have to do something about that Novak reciever. Back in the day we used to use Rit dye and take our speed control and reciever cases and turn them black. If you are careful to peel the labels off and keep them cleen, you can stick them back after the dye job. We used to tell everyone that the sponsored Novak guys got black speed controls and recievers.

Good idea! if I was going to keep this radio I would definitely do that! But hopefully I will be making the 2.4 ghz switch very soon with a Nomadio so hopefully it wont be necessary. If I end up keeping this I will definitely give that a shot.

i like it. i was about to order the slingshot for my gf's rig but i'm going to wait now for the delrin version to come out. hope it's sooner than later - say within 2 weeks...:grin: i got the gc2 that is made out of delrin and digging it more than aluminum.

btw, what's the length of the chassis plate? the gf is thinking of a mini body so i'm checking to see if the slingshot would work.
