I have run the standard 87 tooth spur gear, and the 86 tooth Robinson spur as well. The plastic ones are quieter...I like that. As for pinion gear, I like 18 tooth. Casey |

I've been experimenting and have found so far (first crawler, stock 87t spur) that the 25t pinion i have is a bit to quick and the 14t I have just doesn't quite enough kick that I would like to hop in certain situations. I think I will be going with 2 more pinions somewhere in the middle, maybe a tooth or 2 difference and I think I should find something that will make me happy. By the way, did you buy the tranny from Sam? |

if youre going to be using it mostly for trail bashing you can get away with more wheelspeed 87/20-25 should be cool
