I would get rid of those batteries all their going to do is get hung up on the rocks. and if you are going in the comp direction with this. I would lose the spare tire. That is just extra weight up high that you dont need. but I like what your doing with it so far. |

ill be sure to ditch the batteries as soon as one of you want to spend the 70 or more dollars to buy me a split pack or a lipo setup! hahahahaha!!! i know the spare is top heavy...its for the look and it comes off when its time to crawl. gotta love the obvious point outs tho....and another note on the battery...ill take the slightly extra hangups for the majorly lower cg than the original mounting position. and i did put the whole pack on the front axle before this setup as well.....thanks for the comments tho!!!!!!

Heck buy a split pack from Cheapbatterypacks.com. They are awesome to work with, there packs only cost $20, and I get 40+ minutes of run time on there 1500mah packs. (with a 55t motor.) I can't say enough how great they are. And there shipping is very fast. http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...r=88&model=494 Hope this help. Cool build by the way. |

AWESOME!!!!thanks WyldWeazel!! my only other inquiry is with the servo i have, i dont even get stop to stop steering now let alone with hi clearance steering knuckles...any ideas? and i dont think i will ever be much of a comper and i really am kinda leaning to the scale side with comp performance...so should i go tuber? id like to build a poison spider replica or a cj replica that wheels as good as my ax does now. options????

well the servo not going stop to stop is probably a voltage thing. Try a Castle BEC. It is a little computer that hardwires into your main power line and insure that your servos are getting a true 6 volts... Your speed controller may not be able to stay up with the demand. http://www.castlecreations.com/products/cc_bec.html# They run about $20. (hmmm I think I have a theme going... ) I really can't tell you which way to go with regards to Scaler comp. I want my rig to me the next NASA mars probe... |

sounds like your epa's are set wrong. didn't see what radio your running, but if it doesn't have the adjustments just get a servo stretcher. the bec is only going to give you the 144oz of power to get the wheels to steer, not make them steer farther.

thanks twig...i have tinkered with that dial and its set so it moves equally both ways...i think it is in a slight difference in the kit linkage and the rtr mounting location...since i just used a kit rear steer setup on the front of my rtr. i am guessing a slightly longer drag link might fix it.

Da Hermit......yeah shes a fat girl.....but you know what they say about mopeds n fat girls....they sure are fun to ride when your friends arent around!!!! funny thing is that i haved grenaded anything yet with all that weight but i dont have my slipper super super tight either....its tight enough that you really have to stick a tire hard and nearly pull the bead out before it slips so maybe i just got a good rig to start with.
