ok this will be the last update for the night. just installed the bonus line lockers in the rear axle with the rcp straight axles. I had to file down the axles just a little so they would fit. then I went ahead and greased everything up and put the axle the rest of the way together using the rcp straight axle adapters so what do you guys think so far? |

here's a little update on the build. I went ahead and took a closer look at the bonus line locker and noticed that the screws that holds the locker to the pinion in place doesn't sit flush. so I went ahead and grind them down so their will be no problems in the future. once that was done I went ahead and grind some off of the axial cvd so it was a little easier to tap into the locker. once that was done I went ahead and bolted everything up using the rcp knuckles and axle c's. thats as far as I got rite now. I will keep this thread up to date. as soon as I get more done. |

those links look like there made for a stock Ax10. what is your wheelbase going to be? to extended the uppers you can try some jato rod ends, jato rod ends are the same as revos but longer. |

ya when I ordered them from xrc they were for the axial axles with the blackjack chassis. the bottom links are rite but like you said the uppers are for the axial chassis I just got done checking them. :-(

The upper links were designed for he stock 3-link mount. Looks like you have the conventional 4-link set setup. You might have to unthread a little and find some longer ends. If not try some different upperlink positions cause if this doesnt work you might end up ordering some new upper links. Good Luck it looks good. * You could prolly make a extender with some kind of upper link mount to make it work.... Better yet just drill another 3mm hole in the chassis that works with the lengths. For rite now the build is on hold again until I get everything that I need. and just so everyone knows I'm not blaming xrc for any of this and I will be purchasing more stuff from them for my next (1st scale)build in the future. they have been very helpful. and their customer support is great. so once I get everything I will start posting. but I will still answer any replies and or questions. |

Hey all, I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on. The links are correct for the Blackjack using AX-10 axles, and either ours, RPP's, or RCP's link/servo mount plates. The configuration problem here is they are not fabricated to fit the shorter TCS plate. I talked to Tim way before I saw this post and showed him picks of our Blackjack with AX-10 axles and the exact same length links though ours have reg. rod ends, not heavy duty. I also let Tim know that I would either send him the correct plates to work with the links or build him a free set of upper links to work with the plates he has. We'll get you fixed up Tim Here's the pics of our Blackjack with the exact same center to center link measurements. Last edited by insanerc; 07-18-2008 at 07:51 AM. |

Ya what he said^^^ lol. thanks again Dave. I also told Dave that if he would like I would send him the TCS plates so he could get some links made for that setup as well. Just let me know Dave. |

I'm soon going to be starting a very similar build. The blackjack was my first custom chassis to buy, and it's ben sitting on the shelf until I got some experience under my belt to learn about link setups and suspension geometry, things like that, so I could build it right the first time. I'm still learning and have a long way to go, but now I'm to the point that after I finish my current GC-2 build, I will be starting on the blackjack. I just found the XRC delrin links specifically for the blackjack a few weeks ago, and I was planning to order them anyway. Now that I know what kind of customer service they have, I will be ordering from them A LOT.
