| Ax10 RTR aluminum upgrades
So I bought the AX10 RTR thinking that the plastic would be ok, but it's not. The plastic steering parts are terrible and the rear links are bending everytime I get want to climb a vertical rock. Could someone point me in the direction of a kit to convert the steering linkage to something more solid? Thanks!

Ditto, I've had my RTR for less that a week and wish I'd gone the ARTR path. :-( Don't get me wrong, I love the truck as a whole, but the rear arms and the steering links sometimes behave like they are made of jelly!! Some advice would be greatly appreciated!!! |

Im in the process of either purchasing a ARTR or the Kit build, I would like to go the ARTR for the simple fact it has the bent links included and I actually prefer the orange over the green. So i have a couple of questions for the gurus.. 1. What other mods are required to make the ARTR that little bit better? I noticed that Axial states the driveline components on the kit build are "all steel hardware" what EXACTLY does that include so these items can be purchased initally rather than down the track? 2. Is the sintered locker the same or a better quality than the alluminum version? 3. is it worth getting the driveshaft rings or have these been improved on the ARTR? finally, 4. what about the comp. uni joints? worth the $ for inital purchase? I plan on running a 55t with no rear steer, it is not going to be a comp truck, just something to kill some spare time and drunken weekends.. cheers in advance for all those that reply! Much appreciated! Sp33d. |

1. The flange balls (pivot balls) are steel in the kit and plastic on the ARTR. No big deal there. 2. Sintered are heavier and stronger. 3. Yes and no. If installed correctly it may help the yoke from popping off but the drive shafts will still twist and break. 4. Yes and no. The ARTR has a straight locked rear so you don't need a uni there. On the front a uni will help eliminate a little backlash and make the steering travel increase slightly. The MIP C-Drive shafts eliminate question 3 and will not twist. |

I have two RTR's one for me and one for my son-they came out with the ARTR after a got mine-I would get the Axial kit or the other one listed. You also need the platic kit to assemble it. The other weak part is the rear upper cotrol arm suport on the rear diff it bends like crazzy! You need to buy the servo mount or make one. I made mine. I also installed the MIP drive shafts on both of ours. I would recommend a 10t pinion with the stock motor. Matt |

I just brought my RTR home last night and this thing is a blast! As a fellow RTR purchaser experiencing those same ills, is there any fear of breaking the stock knuckles with the aluminum steering linkage? Thanks! Jon D. |

They are holding up well so far. And they are actually slightly larger in diameter than the straight Axial links they replaced. I guess like so many crawler mods/upgrades it's a case of pick and choose. Narly1 | |
